Probably the best benefit to working from home is being closer to your family and having more time to bond with them. Says Karl Magsuci, head of autos, “With a WFH setup, I get to see my son every day and spend time with him as I work.”

Employees who transitioned to working from home get a break from Manila’s daily traffic congestion. Relates Marita Galvez, fashion lead, “I just realized how stressful it is to go to work and begin the day already tired or in a bad mood because of the traffic.Today my commute is super light -- I just wake up, get ready, and just walk three steps to my home office.”

5. You can be more focused at your job within the safety of home

Here's what you'll find at the National Trade Fair Digital Mall

Last December 15, the Department of Trade and Industry - Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion announced the opening of the National Trade Fair Digital Mall, a permanent e-commerce platform for Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the country's 17 regions.

There are currently 223 MSMEs who have set up their digital stores within the NTF platform. When you've finished shopping at that store, you can complete the checkout process with the delivery and payment details.

Carousell PH Partners with Go Negosyo

Carousell Tackles Counterfeit

Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds, has launched the Carousell Rights Owners Programme (CROP), a platform that tackles counterfeit listings in collaboration with brand partners. CROP provides assurance to brands, whose rights are more closely protected, and users, who can deal with greater confidence in the marketplace platform.

CROP allows trusted brand partners to directly remove listings of brand replicas from Carousell with zero processing time, thus tightening the content moderation process by drastically reducing the time required for takedowns. First piloted in December 2018 in Singapore, CROP has taken down 13,000 listings in the nine months since its introduction. Only select brand partners, whose activities will be closely monitored by Carousell, will have access to CROP and its content moderation capabilities. Brands that have come onboard CROP include Nike, Grab and luxury brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta.

“We want to create a trusted marketplace platform and protect Carousellers from inadvertently purchasing counterfeits or unauthorised goods, while at the same time protecting brands’ rights. CROP allows us to proactively address both these issues seamlessly, eliminating any delay in action altogether. Once a listing has been deemed counterfeit and removed directly by the brand through CROP, the seller will automatically receive an email to notify them of the takedown due to their item’s infringement of Intellectual Property (IP) rights,” said Serena Darcel Chin, Head of Legal, Carousell.

Carousell’s existing counterfeit policy prohibits the sale of fake products, replicas or counterfeits and the creation of any content that violates any intellectual property rights. However, prior to CROP there was a longer process from the flagging of an item to the actual takedown, as its URL had to be first submitted to Carousell’s brand protection team for processing. To ensure swift action, Carousell is looking to further streamline and automate CROP’s processes in the near future.

“Trust and safety continues to be a key priority for Carousell. Carousell has been collaborating with and supporting the Police's efforts in combating the sale of counterfeit goods on its platform. We are invested in building a holistically safe and conducive environment for buying and selling and have seen very promising results from our combined efforts to tackle counterfeits,” said Raffy Montemayor, General Manager, Carousell Philippines.

CROP is the latest development Carousell’s series of dedicated efforts in building a trusted environment for its users. Besides CROP, Carousell has also invested resources in Sift Science (a third party service provider) and manual moderation teams to help combat counterfeits on the platform.

Shopee Launches its First-Ever Scholarship Program, Shopee Scholars, in the Philippines

2018’s Most Popular Property Type and Location

Interested in finding out the most popular property types and locations for the past year? In Metro Manila, where condominiums are the most popular property type, Quezon City is the top choice with 27 percent of users searching the location for possibilities. The most searched price range for condominiums in Metro Manila is P1 million to P5 million, which is equivalent to studio to two-bedroom units.

In provincial areas, house and lot is the preferred property type with Cebu City leading at 9 percent as the most searched city. Angeles City comes close with 8 percent, Tagaytay and Antipolo are tied at 7 percent. Santa Rosa makes it to the top five most searched provincial cities with 5 percent. In terms of price range, most users are searching for a house and lot worth P1 million to P3 million.

In the province of Cebu, the most popular property type is house and lot, having 55 percent of searches in the area. Cebuanos recorded P5 million to P10 million as the most popular budget for this property type. The condominium is the next most searched residential property type with 37 percent of the search volume, and townhouse got 8 percent. In terms of location, some 62 percent has made Cebu as the most searched city. Also in the top five cities are Lapu-Lapu City with 12 percent, Mandaue City with 7 percent, Talisay City with 5 percent and Minglanilla with 3 percent.

For Davao region, house and lot remains the preferred property type, with 88 percent choosing Davao as the top city where they look for property. Samal Island Garden City is the choice of 8 percent, Digos of 2 percent, Tagum of 1 percent and Panabo with 0.4 percent. In terms of price range, most users are searching for a house and lot worth P1 million to P3 million.
