In the main event, ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki will defend his title against Eduard Folayang of the Philippines. In the co-main event, ONE Featherweight World Champion Marat Gafurov will do battle with former titleholder Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia in a highly-anticipated rematch.

Tickets for ONE: DEFENDING HONOR are available at http://www.sportshub.com.sg/sportshubtix/Pages/one-defending-honor.aspx

CEO of ONE Championship, Victor Cui, stated: “2016 has been an amazing year for ONE Championship. After meeting with the biggest names in the industry at the Asia MMA Summit, we are proud to announce a spectacular fight card set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium this November. We are going in with two world title fights that will set the ONE Championship cage ablaze with world-class MMA action and excitement, along with a series of really solid supporting bouts.”

Lightweight veteran Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki of Shizuoka, Japan, is one of the world’s most decorated mixed martial artists. He is the DREAM Lightweight Champion, former Shooto Welterweight Champion, and the reigning ONE Lightweight World Champion. The 33-year-old Aoki is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Yuki Nakai and has won multiple grappling tournaments across the globe. He also holds a black belt in judo. A veteran of over 40 professional bouts which includes an impressive 25 victories by submission, Aoki’s reputation as a grappling specialist is unrivaled. Aoki is currently riding a nine-fight win streak, and is set to step back inside the ONE Championship cage to defend his lightweight title against Eduard Folayang.

Eduard “Landslide” Folayang of the famed Team Lakay in Baguio City is one of the Philippines’ most experienced mixed martial artists. After more than eight years as a professional competing in various promotions, the wushu specialist has amassed a stellar 16-5-0 mixed martial arts record. Folayang figured in impressive victories in his last two bouts, overcoming both Tetsuya Yamada and Adrian Pang, showcasing a highly-improved wrestling and grappling offensive arsenal. Currently at the peak of his abilities as a combat sports athlete, Folayang will get the opportunity of a lifetime when he steps inside the cage across ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki.

Marat “Cobra” Gafurov of Dagestan, Russia, is the reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion. An undefeated mixed martial artist with 14 wins and no losses, Gafurov is a high-level grappler with 10 of his wins coming by impressive submission over top-caliber opponents. Rarely challenged and always dominant, Gafurov captured the featherweight title with a gutsy victory over former champion Narantungalag Jadambaa in an epic battle. Now the two are set to lock horns once again inside the ONE Championship cage in a much-awaited rematch.

Former ONE Featherweight World Champion Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia is one of the top contenders in ONE Championship’s deep featherweight division. At 12 wins and four losses, Jadambaa has faced the biggest names in Asian MMA and has wins over notable ONE athletes Adrian Pang, Honorio Banario, and Koji Oishi. In his last two bouts, Jadambaa finished two highly-regarded fighters in Kotetsu Boku and Eric Kelly, earning him another shot at reigning champion Marat Gafurov.

Eddie “The Magician” Ng is a 30-year-old lightweight standout originally from Hong Kong. He is a ONE Championship veteran who has been with the promotion since its first event in 2011. At his best, Ng is a devastating striker with lightning quick hands and feet, as well as a highly technical grappler with a wide range of submissions. Training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore, Ng works with the best talent in one of Asia’s top martial arts gyms. He returns to the ONE Championship cage looking to bounce back from a recent setback, but will have to go up against Adrian Pang.

Adrian “The Hunter” Pang is a mixed martial arts veteran from Queensland, Australia, with a 22-9-2 professional record. The 38-year-old Pang has decimated opponents with his power and no-frills approach to striking in nearly two decades as a professional MMA athlete. He is known for his incredible durability and overwhelming strength, along with his ability to walk through opponents with relative ease. Pang looks to make a triumphant return to the winner’s circle against Eddie Ng.

26-year-old Timofey Nastyukhin is a professional mixed martial artist competing in ONE Championship’s stacked featherweight division. He owns a 10-2-0 record with all of his wins coming by spectacular finish. With four submissions and six knockouts on his resume, Nastyukhin is considered one of the finest offensive fighters in the promotion. He owns stoppage wins over top fighters Rob Lisita and Yusuke Kawanago, and now returns to action against Japanese MMA veteran Kotetsu Boku.

Kotetsu “No Face” Boku, although originally from South Korea, is a Japanese mixed martial arts legend and the former ONE Lightweight World Champion. With more than 30 professional fights on his fight resume, Boku has the experience of a seasoned veteran and has seen it all inside the cage. Always a crowd pleaser, Boku utilizes his dynamic boxing background with world-class grappling to subdue his opponents. He’ll now get the chance to put on a show once again opposite Russia’s Timofey Nastyukhin.

21-year-old Singaporean prospect Amir Khan is a professional mixed martial artist competing in ONE Championship’s stacked lightweight division. He is considered one of the most promising young talents to represent the country on the international stage of MMA. Khan is currently riding a two-fight win streak with both victories coming by way of knockout. He will make his much-anticipated return to competition by taking on the undefeated Samir Mrabet.

Samir Mrabet is a 31-year-old professional mixed martial artist from Brussels, Belgium, by way of Monarchy MMA in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Unbeaten at four wins and no losses, Mrabet owns three highlight-reel finishes over solid competition and is currently on a two-fight win streak in ONE Championship. Featuring a robust ground game coupled with a solid striking arsenal, Mrabet is set to take on Singaporean prospect Amir Khan.

Women’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Michelle Nicolini is a 34-year-old professional mixed martial artist competing in the ONE Championship women’s strawweight division. Nicolini is a member of the BJJ Hall of Fame and an eight-time black belt world champion, and owns a 2-1 record which includes two impressive submission victories. A tremendous technical grappler, Nicolini recently relocated to Singapore to join the Evolve Fight Team and will make her ONE Championship promotional debut against Egypt’s Mona Samir.

Mona Samir of Cairo, Egypt is a professional mixed martial artist with a 1-2-0 record. She made her promotional debut against ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee a year ago, and has since then gained additional fight experience in other MMA promotions. She returns to ONE Championship to take on a monumental challenge against eight-time BJJ black belt world champion Michelle Nicolini.

Additional bouts for ONE: DEFENDING HONOR will be announced at a later date.

IS IT HIP? - Apartel’s Music Video Launch at Victoria Court

Victoria Court is always on the lookout for out-of-the-box events and the launching of Apartel's music video is definitely one of them. Apartel, a new super-group formed by legendary Eraserheads front man and songwriter Ely Buendia, alongside co-conspirator and founder, Gnash/DRT front-man, and songwriter Jay Ortega has just launched their first ever single entitled “Is It Hip?”. When we heard the single and the entire album of the band, we knew both brands fit like a glove. Apartel's sexy sound launched in Manila's sexiest drive-in hotel? Mix in alcohol, oh boy, we're in for a treat!

This one-of-a-kind event infuses sight, sound and taste, which is distinctly the Victoria Court way. The Victoria Court Malate Party Wing was transformed into an intimate concert area for Apartel's guests where they can eat, drink and dance the night away.

Why Victoria Court and Apartel? It’s a marriage made in LOVERS HEAVEN!! Apartel’s music in layman’s terms is all about love, love making, and late night calls. Something Victoria Court has always owned and been known for. Apartel’s music is classy and a definite cut above the rest… what with a full horn section, percussions, back up singers, the core band, and the 2 commanding front men, Ely and Jay performing in full on suits… It’s something the local music scene has not experienced before. Victoria Court has always been regarded as a pioneering place where people with a sense of class gravitate to and frequent and could very well be Apartel’s home.

Key words that lock in Apartel and Victoria Court - check in, trip out. Both brands are alluring, sensual, funky, and groovy... once you check in; you're sure to trip out.

How Alkaline Water and Diet can help Maintain your health

Much has been said regarding the impact of an acidic body ph to one’s health particularly its connection with various diseases.

The body naturally creates acids as part of the digestive system or as a by-product of various metabolic processes. However, one’s body may experience over acidity due to factors like a diet rich in processed foods, stress, and other lifestyle factors. Chronic over acidity affects all the body’s cellular functions and is seen to contribute to cancer, heart disease, obesity, weight problems, allergies, fatigue and premature aging as well as problems with our nervous system, cardiovascular system and muscles.
To counteract the negative effects of over acidity, it is recommended that people adopt an alkaline diet and drink alkaline water.  Alkaline foods are foods that create an alkaline effect in the body regardless of their actual ph levels. This means that even food like lemons and limes actually have an alkaline effect on the body. Additionally, the alkaline diet involves limited consumption of meats, dairy products, white flour and white sugar which are very acidic. Instead, one should eat large quantities of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, and soy products.
Apart from eating alkaline foods, drinking alkaline water can also play a major role in balancing one’s body ph. However, most conventional alkaline water is produced using electrolysis and ionizer based technology which involves passing electric current through water laced with chemical catalyst submerged with titanium or platinum plates. This process can create trace amounts of chemicals from the breakdown of the catalyst as well as trace amounts of metals from the plates.
At the same time, alkaline water produced using this artificial method has very short shelf lives. This is because the artificially induced alkaline effect wears off in a matter of days. At the same time, the alkaline water produced using electrolysis is also very sensitive to temperature fluctuations which makes storage difficult.
An alternative to this process is naturally infusing alkalinity into the water to mimic the same properties found in spring or pristine river water. Thanks to advances technology it is now possible to replicate this using nano-technology to infuse nano minerals into regular water to turn it alkaline. And it is this latest technological advance that is being used in Livingstream Nano Alkaline Water.
Livingstream is the latest concept by GQWEST Inc. the company behind the Aquabest water franchise. By looking back to nature and harnessing the latest in technology, the company envisions the concept as the future in drinking water. Utilizing cutting edge South Korean nanotechnology, Livingstream aims to provide everyone with safe, healthy, and life-changing water.
To produce alkaline water the natural way, Livingstream utilizes filters that contain alkaline nano minerals derived from seashells. When water passes through these filters these nano minerals are infused into the water. Since the nano minerals are derived from biological sources and are integrated into the water there is no risk of any contaminants and the ph level remains constant over long periods of time and regardless of temperature.
To ensure that the water is safe to drink, Livingstream also utilize nano silver to eliminate bacterial and viral contaminants in water. Silver has been used for centuries as an anti-bacterial and antiviral due to its ability to disrupt the cellular process of the contaminants thus killing them.
To introduce the concept to the public the company intends to unveil Livingstream for franchising at the 15th Franchise & Business Expo on October 14-16 at World Trade Center, Pasay City. To learn more about Livingstream Nano-Alkaline Water visit www.livingstream.com.ph.

Former Urbandub Vocalist Gabby Alipe Debuts First Single as a Solo Artist

Former lead band vocalist of Urbandub Gabby Alipe releases his debut single as a solo artist “VISIONS” this September 23, 2016. It is the first track to be released from his upcoming first solo EP entitled “A New Strain” coming out this October. “Visions” is all about having a positive mindset in life.

“That no matter what struggles you may face, as long as you have a clear vision of your goals that a person has to work hard in achieving that goal, no matter the hindrance or road blocks. That a person has potential and can achieve anything in life as long as they believe in themselves and not let fear have control over them. That everything will fall into place, all in good time.” Alipe said.

After Urbandub decided to go their separate ways in 2015, MCA Music signed Alipe as a solo artist.

“I’ve had a very good working relationship with MCA, even while Urbandub was still signed to their label. It’s always great to work with people who are very encouraging and give the artist free reign to express themselves and their art. I couldn’t be more grateful to still be signed to a label that treats you like family.” Alipe said.

Gabby Alipe also shared how he started singing from being part of a band and now as a solo artist.

“Never really was a singer. Never thought I’d end up being a frontman for a band. I always saw myself as a songwriter and guitar player. My journey as a musician started in high school. I joined different bands as a guitar player. While in college, I was a working student, and began playing in bands in the local Cebu music scene, as a bass player. when my former band didn’t want to write original material, I decided to form Urbandub ith my friend Jed Honrado, which led me to sing, only because nobody knew who we were or was interested joining our group as our vocalist. I became a singer by accident. 16 years later, after Urbandub’s run, I’m embarking on a new challenge as a solo artist.” Alipe said.

“Visions” had its premiere on radio last Sept. 22 at Jam 88.3 and RX 93.1. The single is now available through digital downloads via Spinnr and iTunes and streaming also at Spinnr, Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer. Porsche, Audi and Toyota stage exciting show in Texas heat

Despite the day’s stifling heat, the 2016 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas lived up to its promise to provide spectators with a thrilling show. The race kicked off at 5pm local time with the air and ground temperatures standing at 35°C and 45°C respectively. The first four hours were dominated by Audi Sport, while the final third provided an exciting battle between all three LM P1-H teams.
Porsche Team went on to take the victory, assisted by the strategy of the N°1 919 Hybrid (Bernhard/Hartley/Webber) which took advantage of a Full Course Yellow interruption to ease into the lead. Audi Sport came second with the N°8 R18 of Di Grassi/Duval/Jarvis (who very nearly retired), and Toyota Gazoo Racing came third with the N°6 TS050 Hybrid (Sarrazin/Conway/Kobayashi). The latter was helped by its drivers’ ability to double-stint their MICHELIN ‘SOFT Hot Weather’ tyres during the evening, whereas their rivals ran the ‘Hot Weather Plus’ compound early on.
After dominating Friday’s qualifying, the two Audi R18sgot away to a strong start and, after a short scrap with Porsche, managed to pull out a gap during the opening hour, leaving Porsche and Toyota to battle in their wake. The two German teams opted for the MICHELIN ‘SOFT Hot Weather Plus’ compound, while Toyota preferred the MICHELIN ‘SOFT Hot Weather’ option.By the start of the second hour, the order seemed to be well established, with the Audi R18s lapping two seconds apart, the two Porsches more than half-a-minute back and the Toyotas gradually losing ground.
This situation lasted around an hour until Toyota Gazoo Racingchose to stay on the same tyres after its third refuelling stop which took place during a Full Course Yellow interruption. The time saved allowed it to re-join in a stronger position. By this time, however, Audi Sport had established a handsome lead which it defended until the 100-lap mark…
That is when the AudiR18came to an unexpected halt and, although Loïc Duval eventually managed to get it going again, the time lost put it out of contention. This misadventure allowed the N°7 sister car to take over at the top and continue to defend Audi Sport’s chances.

This incident was followed moments later by the LMP1 cars’ fifth refuelling halt. The N°1 Porsche was the last in the order to pit when a Full Course Yellow period to clear up crash debris was declared. This allowed the N°1 919 to emerge in first place after a tyre change and driver swap.
Benoît Tréluyer (N°7 Audi) did his best to recover the lead but, on Lap 133, he was hit by an LM GTE car during a passing manoeuvre. The resulting damage necessitated a seven-minute pit stop for repairs.
Now under no pressure, the leading Porsche focused on consolidating its lead over the second-placed Toyota which was enjoying the benefit of its tyres’ consistency at this point. The last two hours provided Audi with a chance to bridge the gap however and, ultimately, steal second place from the N°6 Toyota during the last round of pit stops.

That was such an exciting race,” enthused Jérôme Mondain, manager of Michelin’s endurance racing programmes. “Despite the very high track temperatures, our tyres proved competitive and consistent once again, allowing both those cars which double stinted and those which changed tyres at each stop to post some outstanding lap times all the way to the flag.”
The next round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship will take place in what is likely to be cooler weather at Japan’s Fuji Speedway on October 16.

Malaysian mall group impressed by SM best practices

Malaysia Shopping Malls Association, also known as Persatuan Pengurusan Kompleks (PPK Malaysia), expressed fascination over SM Supermalls’ facilities and operations during a recent visit to the country. The group’s representatives were in the country to tour local malls, including SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia and SM Aura.

While this isn’t PPK Malaysia’s first visit to the Philippines, this year’s study tour introduces a new aspect of the trip, which is to focus more on mall operations apart from design and architecture, format, retail mix, marketing and promotions.

“The tour is about learning new concepts and new ways of mall management. We also get exposed on how cultures and other malls differ when it comes to mall designs, operations and marketing,” said Vincent Chong, PPK Malaysia assistant treasurer.

PPK Malaysia Executive Director Evelyn Lo said that members of the tour group were particularly impressed with SM Aura’s sky garden and SM’s overall security features.

“I think they were impressed and taken aback by SM Aura’s top floor—that it’s outdoor. We don’t do that in Malaysia. Malaysian malls are enclosed and air-conditioned,” Lo revealed. “They also found it interesting that there are a number of security guards in Philippine malls and all your guards are local people. Back home, the guards are mostly non-locals. We found out today that metal detectors have long been a part of your shopping culture and we don’t have it there (Malaysia) yet. You also have K9 dogs inside the malls. We usually place K9 dogs outside the malls,” Lo revealed.

When asked about the best practices of SM, Chong mentioned important highlights. “We find that you are able to get the locals to come in and join in the security department. The group noticed that not only are they willing to become security personnel and proud of the job they’re doing, they consider it a good career. If it can be done here, we should be able to do it back home,” he said.

“We come to Manila in general because the shopping scene here is great.  It’s so vibrant. You have mid-range malls like SM Megamall which includes a higher end Fashion Hall area. There’s SM Aura which has a different format while the SM Mall of Asia is huge. We have to learn more about the mall industry from the outside but in Asian context,” Chong noted.

PPK Malaysia is a group that conducts regular study tours to learn the best mall practices in the region. It is the recognized representative of shopping centers in Malaysia whose members obtain first-hand notification and information on nationwide issues and events affecting the industry.
