SM and Bureau of Fire Protection Join Hands to Foster Resilient Communities

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) partnered with SM Prime Holdings, Inc., to promote community preparedness and resiliency against fire incidents.

To seal the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between SM Supermalls’ chief operating officer Steven T. Tan (representing SM Prime), and Fire Director Leonard R. Bañago during the BFP’s Fire Prevention Month culminating activity at the Music Hall of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Under the agreement, BFP and SM Prime will collaborate in the promotion, information dissemination, and managing of fire safety protection and preparedness-related activities. SM has agreed to host several of BFP’s activities that are geared towards educating the public about fire safety, by means of mall events and information and education campaigns. Meanwhile, BFP committed to provide the necessary expertise to train and equip the employees, agency personnel, and tenants of the more than 70 SM Supermalls on fire safety and disaster resiliency.

“As a member of the community, and a responsible mall developer, SM supports initiatives for a public-private partnership such as this one. We are humbled to be BFP’s partner in promoting fire safety, and in helping build disaster-resilient communities. Through this partnership, we hope to teach our customers, as wells as communities where our malls are present, the importance of safety and resilience,” said Steven Tan.

During his speech, Undersecretary for operations of the Department of Interior and Local Government Epimaco V. Densing III said, “The partnership is very critical to us because this is one way for the Bureau of Fire Protection to reach out to the people. SM is now giving us the venue for the agency to be much closer to the people, and this is what we call the participatory governance side so that there can be a partnership between the ordinary people, the Filipino business community and that of the government agencies such as BFP.”

Fire Director, Chief BFP Leonard R. Bañago, added; “Ang fire prevention ay hindi lamang role ng BFP, kundi role natin itong lahat. Kailangan mag participate ang community and private sector sa isinasagawang fire prevention campaigns. Hinihikayat natin ang lahat ng stakeholders na mag participate para maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng mapinsalang sunog.”(“Fire prevention is not just the role of BFP, but is everybody’s role. The community and the private sector should participate in fire prevention campaigns. We encourage all stakeholders to participate, to prevent fire incidents.”)

“We encourage the people, now that the Bureau of Fire Protection will be present in many of the SM Supermalls, to please interact with them. There is what we call the “Fire Square” – it is one way for the people to experience what they should be doing during fire incidents, and participate in lectures and interactive trainings for them to know strategies for fire prevention and safety,” Densing III added.

The BFP also gave due recognition to Local Chief Executives and other partners from both government and private sector for their continuing support to the efforts of the BFP.

Converge ICT Rolls Out Partnership with Secure64, Ensures More Secured Internet Connection

Converge ICT Solutions, the country’s leading local fiber internet provider, rolls out best-in-class domain name system (DNS) solution for its subscribers through a partnership with Secure64, a leading provider of genuinely secure DNS servers that are purpose-built to be highly-protected and immune to malware.

Every day, DNS server attacks pose threats to companies and customers – from theft of customer data to loss of access,” says Converge ICT CEO and President Dennis Anthony Uy. “We, at Converge ICT, want to protect our Network and, hence, our users from these cybercrimes with the roll-out of our DNS infrastructure powered by Secure64.”
Malicious traffic also has a significant effect on a business’ internet security.

Vivo V15 Pro Super Wide Angle Camera Elevates Your Photo Taking Experience

Kuala Lumpur, 23 May 2019 – Vivo Malaysia is enhancing every mobile photographer’s experience with the 8MP AI Super Wide-Angle Camera on the Vivo V15 Pro. As a part of the AI Triple Camera setup in the phone, it allows users to capture stunning photos with brilliant precision and a wider perspective.

The wide angle does not sacrifice details or clarity even during night shots. Instead, each detail is carefully enhanced with vivid colors that give a dazzling context onto the photo. The AI Super Night Mode is able to take multiple photos at different exposures and then combines them to produce night scenes that are now able to be captured with a high level of detail and stability without the use of a tripod or DSLR.

The Super Wide-Angle Camera on the Vivo V15 Pro is part of the AI Triple Camera feature available on the device where it assists users to capture photos with stunning precision and a wider perspective. The AI-embedded solutions in the V15Pro help users to take their mobile photography experience to the next level.

The camera assists mobile photographers to capture more details from the same spot by utilizing the camera’s 120 degrees angle. Both pictures above are taken from the same spot with and without the Wide Angle Feature turned on. It allows more details of the building to be captured.

Users are also able to utilize the Vivo V15Pro’s 5MP Depth Camera and the 48 Million Quad Pixel Sensor to produce photos with better clarity. This is enhanced by the “four-in-one-pixel” technology that combines four pixels into one large pixel in the main rear camera. This technology gives high-quality 12MP photos including those taken in the dark.

This allows for a fairytale-like landscape for a town with a leafy tree as the centerpiece from one angle and magically transform when using the Super Wide-Angle Camera. Even with space constraints in a European Town, one is able to see more of this majestic tree with the Super Wide Angle feature turned on. Details in the wide angle shot are also not compromised.

The Super Wide-Angle Camera can be used in multiple settings. While on vacation, one can use it to capture the scene and feel at the time without the use of a DSLR. See more of your vacation in one snap.

The wide-angle can also be used for a different perspective. One can struggle to take a picture of a building due to space constraints but the Super Wide-Angle Camera gives it clarity and makes the building look normal. On top of that, the camera also captures the street details surrounding the building.
The Super Wide-Angle Camera on the Vivo V15 Pro helps users to capture better memories with more details nested within a picture. Look back at events, celebrations, holidays, and every important moment and remember each element.
