Security Bank Wealth Highlights the Growing Need for Integrated Wealth Planning

Makati City, Philippines -- Building wealth is one thing. Preserving it, protecting it, and preparing it for the next generation is another.

As wealth grows, financial decisions become more interconnected. Investment opportunities must be weighed alongside risk management. Estate planning can affect business continuity. Succession decisions may shape how wealth is preserved and transferred for years to come.

Recognizing this growing complexity, Security Bank Wealth gathered clients in Manila and Davao for its 2026 Midyear Events, bringing together experts in investments, tax, legal, trust, and insurance to discuss how individuals and families can take a more integrated approach to managing wealth.

Themed “Building Resilient Wealth: An Integrated Approach to Income, Growth, Protection, and Legacy Planning,” the events explored the key pillars of long-term wealth management and why looking at them together matters more than ever.

Looking beyond market opportunities
The first panel focused on how investors can navigate an evolving global and local market environment while positioning their portfolios for both income and long-term growth.

Moderated by Chrissi Morillo, Head of Investment Strategy at Security Bank, the session featured Thomas Wu, Investment Strategist at Invesco; Rohini Chopra, Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management; Dion Ong, Head of APAC at Horizon Capital; and Basil Jason Go, Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Security Bank.

The discussion examined the global and Philippine economic outlook, investment opportunities across Asia, equity income strategies, and the long-term implications of artificial intelligence as an investment theme. Across the conversation, one message stood out: successful investing requires discipline, diversification, and a clear understanding of long-term objectives.

For clients, the session provided context on how market trends and opportunities can be translated into investment strategies aligned with their financial goals, risk appetite, and time horizon.

Security Bank marks 75th Year with 7,500-Mangrove Target

La Union, Philippines As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, Security Bank marked the second year of Project MITHI with a coastal conservation and communication engagement activity in Barangay Bungro, Luna, La Union. Employees, local communities, government agencies, and youth volunteers planted nearly 500 mangrove seedlings, contributing to the Bank's target of planting 7,500 seedlings this year.

Beyond mangrove rehabilitation, the activity also included environmental education sessions for children and financial literacy workshops for adult community members, reflecting Project MITHI’s broader focus on strengthening the resilience of coastal communities.

“Project MITHI is about creating impact that lasts beyond a single activity,” said Nikki Lizares, Sustainability Head of Security Bank. “As we celebrate our 75th year, we want to contribute to communities in ways that strengthen both people and the environment. Restoring mangroves, building environmental awareness, and sharing practical financial knowledge are all part of helping communities become more resilient over time.”

Mayor Gary Pinzon of Luna, La Union underscored the importance of mangrove rehabilitation in strengthening environmental protection and climate resilience. He thanked the volunteers and partner organizations for their support, noting that environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility. “Every mangrove seedling we plant today restores hope, resilience, and a collective commitment to preserving our environment.”

Mangrove rehabilitation requires sustained community participation to create long-term impact.

"Mangrove rehabilitation is a long-term investment in both nature and communities," said Angela Mariz Obsina, Project Lead of MITHI from Oceanus Conservation. "Local residents help monitor and care for the seedlings because they understand the protection healthy mangroves can provide against the impacts of climate change. When nature thrives, communities become more resilient. By protecting our ecosystems, we are also protecting ourselves."

Project MITHI is a partnership between Security Bank, Oceanus Conservation, and Communities for Nature that supports mangrove rehabilitation, biodiversity conservation, environmental education, and inclusive community development in coastal communities across the Philippines.

Now in its second year, Project MITHI forms part of Security Bank’s broader sustainability efforts to support environmental protection while building stronger, more resilient communities.

Security Bank, MUFG Build on Decade-Long Partnership in the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Security Bank and MUFG Bank are building on a decade-long strategic partnership as MUFG Manila marks a new milestone in its commitment to the Philippines with its upgrade to a universal banking license.

Security Bank and MUFG Manila have established businesses in the market and will continue to operate independently. Their partnership brings together Security Bank’s broad local franchise, nationwide network of 400 branches, and deep client relationships with MUFG’s global capabilities and institutional banking expertise.

“MUFG’s continued commitment to the Philippines is a positive development for the market,” said Security Bank President and CEO Victor Lee. “For the past ten years, our partnership has worked because of the strengths each of us brings. Security Bank knows this market and our clients deeply, while MUFG brings global reach and expertise. Together, we can create greater value for the clients we serve.”

Masami Yoshitake, Country Head, MUFG Manila Branch said: “The Philippines is an important market for MUFG, and Security Bank remains an important strategic partner. As we strengthen our presence here, we look forward to building on what we have achieved together over the past decade.”

Security Bank Employees Help Build Better Learning Spaces for Iloilo Students

Makati City, Philippines-- Fifty-one Security Bank employees from six Iloilo branches volunteered on August 1, 2026 to help paint newly constructed classrooms at Iloilo City National High School (ICNHS), helping prepare the facilities for students and supporting Security Bank Foundation's (SBFI) commitment to improving access to quality education.

The volunteer activity supported the completion of a two-storey, 10-classroom school building under SBFI’s Build a School, Build a Nation Program. Construction began in February 2026, with turnover scheduled later this year.

"The volunteers are making a significant contribution to nation-building because helping our Filipino youth is helping shape the future of our country,” said Security Bank Foundation Chairman Rafael Simpao Jr.

For Remcil Ortiz, Branch Channel Manager of Security Bank Iloilo Ledesma, the experience was especially meaningful.

"As a Security Bank employee for the past 10 years, this is my first time joining a volunteer activity like this. It is truly fulfilling to help create a better learning environment for students while giving back to the community," Ortiz said.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the school’s student leaders, the Philippine Red Cross, and Security Bank's Security and Safety Division, which provided safety briefings and on-site support.

Security Bank Sharpens Focus on Wealth, Entrepreneurs, and Corporates to Drive Next Growth Phase

Makati City, Philippines, August 28, 2026 Security Bank Corporation unveiled a focused three-year strategy to capture the next wave of growth in Philippine banking. The Bank will concentrate on wealth management, entrepreneur banking, and corporate and institutional banking, leveraging its existing strengths where it believes it can compete from that position of strength.

Presented at Investor Day 2026, the strategy comes as Security Bank celebrates its 75th anniversary and builds on strong first-half momentum. The Bank reported net income of PHP6.1 billion, revenues of PHP34.9 billion, and pre-provision operating profit of PHP15.4 billion for the period.

“As we mark our 75th year, were looking ahead with clarity and confidence,” said Victor Lee, President and Chief Executive Officer of Security Bank. "We know where the opportunities are. We know the strengths we bring to them. Our direction is clear. The momentum we are seeing today gives us confidence in the road ahead."

At the heart of the strategy are three growth businesses. Through wealth management, Security Bank will deepen relationships with affluent and emerging affluent clients. Through entrepreneur banking, it aims to become the bank of choice for business owners. In corporate and institutional banking, it will pursue opportunities linked to major projects, business ecosystems, and growing cross-border activity.

Security Bank will support businesses by strengthening transaction banking, with the ambition of becoming the preferred operating bank for more clients. A larger role in clients’ payments, collections, cash management, and daily financial activities will help the Bank build deeper relationships and reinforce its deposit franchise.

A key advantage is Security Bank's strategic partnership with MUFG Bank, which combines the Bank's knowledge of the Philippine market with MUFG's global network, sector expertise, and cross-border capabilities. Building on the success of its Japan Desk, the Bank sees further opportunities to serve multinational companies and support investment and business flows across key international corridors.

Security Bank will also participate in broader consumer growth through an ecosystem that includes Home Credit, Mitsubishi Motors Finance, and SB Finance. These businesses extend the Bank's reach into consumer and mobility financing while creating opportunities beyond the parent bank.

“Were not trying to be everything to everyone,” Lee said. “We're deliberate about where we grow. We will focus on areas where we believe we can build a meaningful advantage over time. We know why we can win. And we intend to earn that right every day.

Security Bank Employees Turn 75th Anniversary Celebration into Scholarship Support

Makati City, Philippines — As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, Security Bank transformed employee entrepreneurship into an opportunity to create brighter futures, with proceeds from its annual People's Fair Marketplace helping support the Security Bank Foundation's Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko (RMKK) Scholarship Program.

Held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, the People's Fair Marketplace brought together employee-run businesses from across the Bank. Participation fees from exhibitors were donated to the Foundation to help deserving but underprivileged students pursue their education.

“When we learned that the booth fees would go directly to the Security Bank Foundation's programs, we felt even more encouraged to participate. It's a great opportunity to sell while giving back,” shared Kimberly Malka Soner, Relationship Manager from the Corporate Banking Group.

Now in its 16th year, the RMKK Scholarship Program provides educational assistance to agency-hired personnel of Security Bank, including janitors, security guards, messengers, drivers, and other support staff, as well as their children. For Academic Year 2026-2027, the program supports 87 scholars, helping make education more accessible for families with limited means.

For many participants, the People's Fair was an opportunity to contribute to a cause larger than themselves.

For Jan Jethro Puzon, Relationship Manager from the Corporate Banking Group, joining the People's Fair was a natural way to support both a cause he believes in and his wife's home baking business.

"I have always believed in giving back—whether through my personal life, our church, or simply helping others when I can,” said Jan Jethro Puzon, Relationship Manager from the Corporate Banking Group. “Joining the People's Fair was a chance to support a cause I care about while also cheering on my wife's baking business.”

The annual marketplace has become a meaningful expression of generosity within the Security Bank community, bringing employees together in support of education and opportunity. Together with the Foundation's Adopt a Scholar campaign, the initiative helps fund scholarships that empower students to pursue their goals and build a better future.

"The People's Fair gave us the chance to showcase our products, connect with the Security Bank community, and at the same time support initiatives that help students achieve their educational goals," shared Jose Gil Puey IV, an officer from the Information Technology Group.

Echoing the same spirit of giving, Tristan Joseph Legaspi, an officer from the Business Banking Segment, shared a message for the scholars: "Keep your persistence and drive for continuous education, and remain hopeful that your determination to finish your studies will eventually be rewarded."

The public may also support the RMKK Scholarship Program through the Adopt a Scholar campaign. To donate, visit: RMKK Adopt a Scholar.

The recognitions reflect Security Bank’s BetterBanking strategy: making banking more accessible for individuals, helping businesses operate more efficiently, and supporting landmark projects that contribute to sustainable national development.

Making digital banking simpler and more accessible

Security Bank’s award-winning mobile banking initiative transforms the customer onboarding and banking experience through a seamless digital journey.

The Bank's mobile app enables real-time account opening through secure electronic know-your-customer (eKYC), allowing customers to complete onboarding digitally using biometric verification and instant identity validation. Since its launch, the capability has enabled more than 23,000 new-to-bank customers to open accounts digitally, expanding access to formal financial services and supporting greater financial inclusion.

Existing customers can also instantly open additional accounts and conveniently access digital credit solutions, including installment conversion, balance transfers, and credit-to-cash facilities, all within the app.

"Digital innovation only matters if it makes banking easier for customers," said Myla Untalan, SVP and Strategic Projects Head. "We're continuously improving our digital platforms to help customers bank more conveniently, securely, and confidently wherever they are."

Helping businesses bank more efficiently

Security Bank continues to advance digital transformation for corporate clients by embedding banking services directly into their business operations.

Its QRPay via API capability allows organizations to integrate QR payment generation, processing, and reporting directly into their internal systems, reducing manual work and improving operational efficiency.

The solution has seen strong client adoption, with transaction count increasing by 284% and transaction volume growing by 187% from 2024 to 2025.

By moving from portal-based processes to API integration, businesses can automate payment workflows, improve efficiency, and scale their digital payment capabilities across various platforms and industries.

"Businesses increasingly expect banking to integrate seamlessly into their operations," said Jones Diokno, SVP and Deposits Business Group Head. "Through API-enabled solutions, we're helping clients automate processes, improve efficiency, and support their own digital transformation journeys."

Financing projects that power the country's future

Security Bank Capital’s recognition for Syndicated Loan of the Year underscores its expertise in structuring complex financing solutions for transformational infrastructure projects.

The award-winning transaction involved a PHP150 billion, 15-year senior term loan facility for Terra Solar Philippines, Inc., supporting the development of the world's largest integrated solar and battery storage project as of 2025.

Among the country's largest project finance transactions, the deal supports the Philippines' energy transition while introducing financing features that make long-term infrastructure funding more flexible, creating a benchmark for similar projects in emerging markets.

"This transaction reflects our ability to structure innovative financing solutions for landmark infrastructure projects," said Virgilio Chua, President and CEO of Security Bank Capital. "We're proud to help mobilize capital for projects that support national development while delivering value for our clients and partners."

“At Security Bank, collaboration is at the heart of how we serve our clients,” said Yvonne Marcelo, EVP and Corporate Banking Head of Security Bank. Security Bank Helps Businesses Navigate Energy Efficiency and Solar Investments

Makati Philippine  As businesses face rising energy costs and evolving regulatory requirements, Security Bank hosted a forum to help clients better understand energy efficiency, solar investments, and related government incentives.

The forum, “Sustainability Talks 2026: Energy Savings and Tax Incentives for a Greener Tomorrow, brought together regulators, industry experts, and clients from Security Bank’s Commercial Banking Group to discuss how businesses can enhance energy management, improve costs more effectively, and prepare for compliance requirements under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA).

Hosted by Security Bank for clients of its Commercial Banking Group, the event focused on how companies can strengthen operational resilience through energy monitoring systems, solar rooftop installations, and improved efficient energy practices.

Department of Energy (DOE) Director Patrick Aquino discussed key requirements under the EECA and how businesses can take a more structured approach to monitoring and managing energy consumption. The DOE has streamlined the process of net metering. “The accelerated implementation of the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan (NECP) is also driven by the enactment of the EEC Act, which institutionalized energy efficiency and conservation as the national way of life to promote the efficient use of energy and provide for incentives for qualified EEC projects,” said Director Aquino. “The EEC Act also strengthens compliance and participation among designated establishments and energy efficiency professionals.”

Meanwhile, Romalyn Manalo-Herbosa of the Board of Investments shared available incentives under the Strategic Investment Priority Plan (SIPP), including opportunities for companies investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. “As long as we see that the project is complying with the minimum 15% energy savings, they may avail of the incentives,” said Ms. Herbosa.

The forum also covered practical applications of solar rooftop systems and energy monitoring technologies. Tom Peebles, Chief Executive Officer of Solenergy Systems Inc., shared how businesses are using these solutions to improve operational efficiency and manage electricity costs over the long term. When asked on the consideration when placing batteries, Mr. Peebles responded, “The consideration is data—data, data, data. If you have the data of your utilization and demand profile, you will be able to limit the excess or at least predict the excess and make a very informed decision of the ROI.”

“Energy efficiency is becoming a more deliberate business priority—not just from a compliance standpoint, but also as a way to manage costs and improve operational performance,” said Nikki Lizares, Sustainability Head at Security Bank. “These conversations help clients better understand the options available to them, from solutions and incentives to the practical considerations that matter as they determine what makes the most sense for their business.”

The discussions also highlighted how financing can support businesses across different stages of their transition efforts, including renewable energy, energy-efficient equipment, green buildings, and clean transport initiatives.

“In sustainable finance, the focus is helping clients make practical investments that support long-term business efficiency and growth,” said Anne Eugenio, Sustainable Finance Head at Security Bank. “We want to be a partner to clients as they navigate changing business and regulatory requirements.”

Held at the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center in Makati City, the forum forms part of Security Bank’s broader efforts to support businesses in navigating evolving operational and sustainability priorities.

More recently, Security Bank strengthened its capabilities through technology, strategic partnerships, and the expansion of a broader financial services ecosystem. Today, that ecosystem includes its decade-long partnership with MUFG Bank, Security Bank Finance with Krungsri, Home Credit Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors Finance Philippines, and subsidiaries spanning capital markets, stock brokerage, finance, and operating leases, allowing the Bank to serve customers across more aspects of their financial lives.
The way people bank today looks very different from even a decade ago.
Customers may open accounts digitally, transact through mobile devices, seek investment advice from relationship managers, finance business growth, or visit branches for guidance and support. Increasingly, they expect these experiences to be connected, seamless, and responsive.
Security Bank serves customers through a nationwide network of more than 390 branches, relationship managers, and digital platforms. Today, the Bank serves customers at every stage of their financial journey—from saving and spending to investing, borrowing, and growing a business. As of the first quarter of 2026, the Security Bank App had grown to 1.62 million enrolled users and processed 72.5 million transactions.
Guided by its BetterBanking philosophy, the Bank continues to simplify banking, improve customer experiences, and make financial services easier to access and use.
The results are increasingly visible. In 2025, Security Bank reported total revenues of PHP66.9 billion and pre-provision operating profit of PHP27.6 billion. Momentum continued into 2026, with first-quarter revenues increasing 10% year-on-year to PHP17 billion and pre-provision operating profit rising 24% to PHP7.5 billion.
The Bank also improved its cost-to-income ratio to 56%, reflecting stronger operating efficiency and disciplined execution.
Customer confidence remained strong, with deposits increasing 12% year-on-year to PHP938 billion.
Security Bank's progress has also been recognized externally. In 2025, the Bank was named the top bank in the Philippines by TIME and Statista for the second consecutive year. It also maintained an MSCI ESG Rating of "A," the only Philippine Bank with that rating, placing alongside leading banks in Asia Pacific for ESG risk management.
In 2026, Security Bank was recognized as the #1 Overall Domestic Bank and #1 Trade Finance Products provider in the Euromoney Trade Finance Survey. Security Bank Wealth was named Philippines' Best for High Net Worth by Euromoney for the sixth consecutive year, while the Bank's customer experience initiatives earned eight awards at the Digital CX Awards 2026.
Beyond business performance, Security Bank continues to support long-term development priorities.
Its sustainable finance portfolio reached approximately PHP108 billion in green and social financing by end-2025, supporting projects that contribute to economic development and environmental sustainability. Through Security Bank Foundation, the Bank has invested in education for decades. As one of the country's leading providers of public school classrooms among corporate foundations and one of the Department of Education's most enduring partners in school infrastructure, the Foundation has helped expand access to quality learning environments for thousands of Filipino students nationwide.
The Bank's history is often told through milestones, but it is equally a story of people.
Across generations, Security Bankers have helped customers navigate opportunities, challenges, and change. A culture of care—listening closely, taking ownership, and following through—continues to shape how the Bank serves its customers today.
As Security Bank enters its 76th year, its focus remains clear: deepening customer relationships, improving execution, and delivering stronger outcomes for customers, shareholders, and communities.
The first 75 years established the foundation.
The focus now is on creating more value for customers, stronger returns for shareholders, and broader impact for communities.

Home Credit Sustains Wellness Momentum and Brings Takbo #ParaSaLife to Cebu, Security Bank Supports

Manila, Philippines - Home Credit Philippines successfully concluded Takbo #ParaSaLife 2026 after gathering thousands of runners across its Manila and Cebu legs, reinforcing its advocacy for overall wellness and financial well-being. With Security Bank as one of the event sponsors, this year’s run highlighted how maintaining good health can help Filipinos stay focused, make sound decisions, and move closer to their life goals.

The flagship wellness run kicked off on February 1 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds, where close to 4,500, runners and pets joined the Manila leg. The event continued in Cebu on March 29 at Citi di Mare by Filinvest drawing around 1,500 participants and completing this year’s two-city Takbo #ParaSaLife series.

Takbo #ParaSaLife features race categories for runners of all levels, including a 1KM Pet Run, 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM distances. Participants from different age groups and fitness levels took part in the event, highlighting how staying active supports overall wellness and helps individuals stay confident in pursuing both personal and financial goals.

For Home Credit, promoting financial wellness goes beyond providing accessible financing solutions. Through Takbo #ParaSaLife, the company encourages Filipinos to look at overall well-being as an important part of achieving their goals, recognizing that being healthy helps people stay disciplined, think clearly, and make better decisions for their future.

“Takbo #ParaSaLife reflects our belief that overall wellness plays a big role in helping people move closer to their goals,” said Sheila Paul, Chief Marketing Officer of Home Credit Philippines. “When people feel healthy and confident, they are more prepared to make responsible financial decisions, plan ahead, and take meaningful steps toward the things they want to achieve. Through initiatives like this, we hope to inspire more Filipinos to stay active, stay financially ready, and do more #ParaSaLife.”

Security Bank supported the Manila and Cebu legs of the run as one of the event sponsors, sharing the same commitment to encouraging Filipinos to build strong habits both physically and financially. The partnership also highlights how staying active and saving regularly can help individuals prepare for the future with greater confidence.

“Security Bank is proud to support initiatives like Takbo #ParaSaLife that promote both physical wellness and financial awareness,” said Laurice Rachelle Lupisan, Partnerships Head, Vice President of Security Bank Corporation. “Taking care of one’s health and finances goes hand in hand. As Filipinos work toward their personal goals, we encourage them to also take simple steps toward financial readiness, such as building their savings and using the Security Bank App to manage their money more easily.”

Beyond the racecourse, participants enjoyed warm-up sessions, recovery activities, and interactive booths that created an engaging experience for runners, families, and pets alike. The event served as a reminder that small, consistent steps—whether staying active, managing expenses, or setting aside savings—can help people stay on track toward their goals.

With strong participation in both Manila and Cebu, Home Credit continues to strengthen Takbo #ParaSaLife as its flagship wellness initiative, with support from Security Bank in encouraging Filipinos to build habits that support both health and financial stability. Staying active through Home Credit’s Takbo #ParaSaLife and starting a savings account through the Security Bank App are simple steps that can help people move closer to doing more #ParaSaLife.
