Team Windigo of Bulgaria claimed supremacy in the finals of CS:GO after defeating AGO Esports of Poland. Canadian player Ryan ”Purple” Murphy –Root was also successful in claiming victory after defeating He “山下智久” Chenyung of Chinese Taipei in the Final match of Hearthstone. Lee “INnoVation” Shin-Hyung of South Korea was also successful in the main StarCraft II trophy against Finland’s Joona “Serral” Sotala. Tribe Gaming from the US defeated the Korean’s Team ACE with a 2-0 score in the Grand Finals of Vainglory. Ettore “Suprema_Ettorito” Giannuzzi of Italy redeemed the championship of PES Grand Finals after crushing Brazilian’s representative Alemao Pesbr in the final match. TNC Predator of the Philippines has prevailed over Keen Gaming of China in the Dota 2 Grand Finals and winning almost every game from eliminations to finals.

Aside from the bragging rights and honor for their country, winners also took home some cash prizes. Team Windigo and TNC Predator both took home USD 500,000. Giving up his regular job was not an easy decision, working from one of the pillars of Philippine esports can be rewarding but KuyaNic’s hunger to improve on things prevailed. “I am a very passionate and competitive worker. My mindset was, there’s always something better to be done” he recounted.

Sealteam Peenoise finishes 2nd in South East Asia Championship

MANILA, Philippines – Sealteam Peenoise won second place at the Rules of Survival SEA Survival Championship early January.

“From the Philippine tournament, it is our goal to represent the country in an international arena” John Kirk Magbanua, Team Captain of Sealteam Peenoise. “We trained and prepared hard for this, and we are proud of our achievement” Magbanua added.

Other teams who represented PH includes Savage Gaming ranks 4th with a final score of 1,555, Team Marshall with 1,020 in 10th, Comeback in 11th with 915 Points and Evo Groundz with 675 points in 12th.

The 15 squads, who competed, are the best squads from the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia with the aim of claiming supremacy and take part in the USD 11,600 prize pool.

“This kind of tournament hones local talents to be better,” Henry Zhao, Nimo TV Overseas Executive. “We believe that by exposing them to this kind of tournament, we are helping them improve their talents and eventually be ready in competing globally,” added Zhao.
