TECNO CAMON 50 Series Powers RUNRIO Earth Day Run 2026 in Davao, Turning Every Stride into a Better-Captured Moment

April 14, DAVAO, Philippines — TECNO officially joins the energy of RUNRIO Earth Day Run 2026 as the first leg begins in Davao on April 12 in SM Lanang, marking the start of a multi-city celebration that brings together movement, community action, and a shared commitment to a greener future.
Run for the Planet, Captured Like Never Before
More than just a race-day appearance, TECNO’s participation reflects what the CAMON 50 Series is built for: helping people capture real life as it happens. From fast-moving runners and finish-line reactions to wide community scenes and long-distance action, the CAMON 50 Series brings its Super Zoom FlashSnap capability into one of the most dynamic real-world situations for mobile imaging—sports in motion.

Whether it is a runner pushing toward the finish line, friends celebrating after a personal best, or families turning Earth Day into a meaningful weekend moment, TECNO is positioning the CAMON 50 Series as the phone that helps users keep the energy, emotion, and movement of the day in sharper focus.

New Wearables Join the Green Mission
The partnership also highlights TECNO’s growing smart lifestyle ecosystem through newly launched wearable products such as the Watch NEO and FreeHear 2. Together with the CAMON 50 Series, these devices support a more connected and expressive daily routine—whether users are training, running, listening on the go, or creating content from their day-to-day experiences.
Runnio Earth Day Run has long stood for more than fitness. It is a public reminder that collective action matters, and that everyday habits—showing up, moving together, protecting shared spaces, and advocating for better environmental choices—can create visible impact. By joining the run, TECNO is connecting its product story with a broader lifestyle message: technology should not only help people do more, but also help them engage more meaningfully with the world around them.

What’s Next: Manila Leg with Sarah Geronimo & CAMON 50 Street Party
Following Davao, the excitement continues in Manila on April 19 in SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, where the next leg of the Earth Day Run will meet the launch momentum of the CAMON 50 Series in an even bigger way. TECNO will bring added visibility to the Manila stop as brand ambassador Sarah G is set to energize the event and help spotlight the spirit of movement, style, and better-captured moments. “We’re turning the Manila leg into a celebration of health, planet, and creativity,” added Ms. Phia, TECNO Marketing Manager. “Sarah G represents the energy and passion of every Filipino who stops at nothing — exactly what CAMON 50 stands for.”

Run and Win

As TECNO continues to build momentum for the CAMON 50 Series in the Philippines, its Earth Day Run partnership shows that the brand is not just launching a phone—it is entering the spaces where young Filipinos live, move, create, and connect.
Following the successful Davao leg (April 12 in SM Lanang), runners can still register for the remaining Manila leg (April 19 in SM Mall of Asia), CEBU (April 26 in SM Seaside Cebu) via https://earthdayrun.org/. Participants across all legs will have a chance to win CAMON 50 series and AIOT products. TECNO’s Earth Day Run presence gives the CAMON 50 Series a unique platform to prove itself not only as a new smartphone launch, but as a device made for action, expression, and the everyday stories people want to remember and share.

Running Tips from Coach Rio

Is it your first time running? Are you worried about sustaining injuries or running out of breath even before you can reach the finish line?

Fear not as international marathoner and RUNRIO, Inc. president Rio de la Cruz shares his expertise with beginner runners in preparation for Maxicare MAXIFEST: Live Your Best Life, Maxicare’s biggest health and wellness event.

Whether you are a rookie runner or a seasoned health enthusiast, here are some pointers from Coach Rio that can help you gear up for the race:

Remember to warm-up. Aside from increasing your heart rate, a good warm-up is important because it makes your muscles flexible and gives enough oxygen to endure the physical activities you'll be doing. This will prevent your body from feeling stiff and sore after running. You can get ready by jogging or walking briskly for 20 to 30 minutes before the actual run.

Listen to your body. Push but don't force – that is what your mindset should be when running. If you are just a beginner, it is okay if you won't be able to run as far or as fast as other runners. When you feel your feet or the side of your torso hurting, take time to stop or slow down.

Learn proper running footstrike. According to Coach Rio, the way you plant your feet on the ground makes all the difference. There are three common running footstrikes: heel style, where your heel hits the ground first; the forefoot style, where you run on the ball of your foot; and the midfoot style, where most of your foot hits the ground at once – this is the most neutral running footstrike because it balances out your weight.

Try out some functional exercises. Functional training is a way to strengthen the body by doing exercises that mimic everyday movements just like lifting groceries or walking up the stairs. These exercises play a crucial role in boosting endurance, improving balance and posture, and enhancing strength and agility.

For this year’s MAXIFEST, the country’s leading HMO has partnered with RUNRIO, Inc., one of the premiere race organizers in the country, for the Maxicare MAXIFEST run which features different running courses and distances for all sorts of runners. There will also be a Maxicare Market, a one-stop shop for ready-to-eat plant-based alternatives.

The highlight of Maxicare MAXIFEST 2019 will be the attempt to set a new Guinness World Record that aims to help support the children of Kythe Foundation, the beneficiary of the event. Kythe Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, non-stock organization aimed towards improving the quality of life among hospitalized children with cancer and other chronic illness.

Registration to Maxicare MAXIFEST is ongoing. Simply visit https://www.runrio.com/race/registration/maxifest-2019. For more info, log on to https://www.maxicare.com.ph or https://www.facebook.com/maxicarehealthcarecorp/.

1st Sunset Marathon to Happen on December 9, 2017

RUNRIO, Tourism Promotions Board Philippines and the Clark Development Corporation announces the upcoming Clark Sunset Marathon happening on December 9, 2017, at the Parade Grounds of Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga at 4pm. It is the first of its kind ever conceptualized in the Philippines.  The Clark Sunset Marathon is a race conceptualized and organized by RUNRIO, Inc. and was inspired by the fact that in tropical countries like the Philippines, the weather is mostly hot and humid. A night run is the perfect running event for running enthusiasts to have a more cooler and more exciting race experience.  Clark Sunset Marathon features running categories in 5KM, 10KM, 21KM and 42KM with the full marathon’s gun start happening at 5pm. The 21KM, 10KM and 5KM follow shortly at 5:15pm, 5:30pm and 5:45pm respectively.  The race event is expected to attract a total of 5,000 running enthusiasts coming from all parts of the country, as well as runners from other parts of the world. “The Clark Sunset Marathon comes at an opportune time when we are being very aggressive in promoting Clark Pampanga as one of the country’s premiere tourist hub.” Said Noemi Julian, manager, Clark Development Corporation, Tourism Promotions.  This landmark running activity is inspired by other world-famous famous running events such as the Boston Marathon, New York Marathon, Singapore Marathon, and the Tokyo Marathon, and is expected to put the country on the global map as a destination for running enthusiasts.    In partnership with Tourism Promotions Board Philippines and Clark Development Corporation the Clark Sunset Marathon aims to establish Clark, Pampanga as a venue of world-class running events in the Philippines. The activity also aims to establish this event as a premiere international marathon foot race in the country by securing route standard accreditation from AIMS/IAAF, the international governing body for distance races in the world.  “The development of Clark International Airport, including the construction of a P12-billion passenger terminal will not only provide running enthusiasts easy access to attend this event, but will also open new opportunities for both tourist and business groups in Clark Pampanga” added Julian.    Running coach Rio dela Cruz of RUNRIO Events, Inc. is proud of this ambitious running event that will not only promote the sport of running, but more importantly, promote the country as well and boost tourism.   “When we started conceptualizing the Clark Sunset Marathon, we wanted to have a first class running experience that targets not only local runners but also foreign running enthusiasts. We thought of a running event that can be compared to world-renowned marathons such as Boston Marathon, Singapore Marathon, New York Marathon among many others. And our goal is not just a one-time event. But to have an annual running event that will make our country one of the top running destinations” said dela Cruz.   For the inaugural year, runners can choose five categories and their cut-off times. 42K-7 hours, 21K - 4 hours, 10K – 2 hours and 5k – 1 hour.

Since Clark has an international airport, Clark Sunset Marathon is also targeting foreign runners to join the race that will culminate with the Clark Sunset Marathon Music Festival, an after party celebration at the finish line. The activity will showcase DJs that will provide the party atmosphere of the running event. “We at RUNRIO want to give a one-of-a-kind experience to all the participants. We staged this running event on a Saturday evening so that the participants will have a relax and “chill-type” of an experience.  It will be a night of running and partying with DJ Ashley Rivera and DJ Tom Taus dishing out the coolest music. This will make sure that participants, their families and friends will have a good time,” said Andrew Neri, managing partner, RUNRIO Events, Inc.   Clark Sunset Marathon is made possible by Gatorade, the official sports drink, ActiveHealth, the official sports system solution, Garmin, the official timing partner and Solar Sports as the official media partner. The first running event of its kind in Clark, Pampanga is also made possible by Nizoral and Nyxsys.   For more information, visit www.runrio.com or like the official Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/runrioeventsinc/.

RUNRIO will also be launching its new campaign “Heart to Finish”, which is expected to become the participants’ mantra for all RUNRIO races.

“We at RUNRIO understand that people join races not just to run. It’s more because of their desire and passion to be able to finish their 21k, 32k or 42k races with different motivations. We believe that if you run with your heart, anything is possible” said Coach Rio dela Cruz, President of RUNRIO Events, Inc.

One of the highlights of the media launch was the opening of the online registration while onsite registrations will be open starting May 6, 2017, at Adidas Greenbelt 3, Adidas Trinoma, Adidas Solenad 3, Adidas BGC and Toby’s SM MOA.

“I would like to invite all those who like running to join the RUNRIO Trilogy 2017.
