As the heat index in the Philippines continues to reach unprecedented levels, SM City Valenzuela has served as a beacon of hope for job seekers. Drawing a substantial crowd in the early hours of the morning, the mall transformed into a bustling sanctuary as eager individuals flocked to its atrium in search of employment. 

2,977 job opportunities were made available to eager applicants, all under one roof. This initiative not only provided relief from the scorching heat but also streamlined the job-hunting process for many individuals. 

"We understand the challenges that job seekers face, especially during these extreme weather conditions," said SM City Valenzuela Assistant Mall Manager Cenen Pamintuan. "By organizing this overseas job fair, we aimed to create a conducive environment where applicants can explore numerous employment opportunities conveniently without having to endure the sweltering heat," Mr. Pamintuan added. 

Employers from overseas employment agencies participated in the event, offering positions in sought-after destinations such as Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, China, and other Asian countries. Representatives from various industries, including healthcare, hospitality, engineering, and information technology, were also on hand to engage with potential candidates.

The event's success not only underscores SM City Valenzuela's dedication to economic development but also highlights its role in providing vital resources to the local workforce, serving as a catalyst for progress in the community.

SM MALLS IN CAMANAVA WRAP UP THE YEAR WITH CHRISMILES

DECEMBER 31- SM City Grand Central, SM Center Sangandaan, and SM City Valenzuela capped off the year with their annual ChriSMiles project. Spearheaded by the Human Resources Department of each mall, ChriSMiles is a employee volunteerism initiative designed to bring smiles to the faces of children while spreading holiday cheer throughout the community.

In Caloocan, children from Tahanang Mapagkalinga Social Development Center were overjoyed as volunteers from SM City Grand Central and SM Center Sangandaan gave love and heartwarming surprises. SM City Grand Central became a hub of joy as the young ones were treated to a day filled with surprises, including a tour around SM City Grand Central, a hearty meal from Jollibee, engaging games from Tom's World, Quantum, and Jack Adventure, and entertaining movies from SM Cinema.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Caloocan City Government, City Social Welfare Officer Regina Embalsado conveyed her heartfelt thanks to SM, emphasizing the importance of the ChriSMiles project for the abandoned, neglected, and abused children. " We are very grateful po dahil may magagandang puso na yumayakap sa mga bata. Taos puso po ang pasasalamat namin sa inyo," she remarked.

Meanwhile, the employees of SM City Valenzuela brought joy to the children at Bahay Kalinga ng Valenzuela. Laughter echoed through the air as the youngsters were treated to gifts, entertainment, and a year-end party, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

SM MALLS IN CAMANAVA BRING CHRISTMAS JOY TO UNSUNG STREET HEROES

Street sweepers, garbage collectors, and pedicab drivers' routines took an extraordinary turn when SM Malls in Valenzuela, Sangandaan, and Grand Central, including SM Savemore Malabon, orchestrated a heartwarming surprise for these essential community workers.

These essential street workers, whose work contributions often go unnoticed in the daily hustle and bustle, received a special Christmas treat from SM. Christmas packs, brimming with essential items and delightful goodies, were distributed across various barangays in the CAMANAVA area. The initiative not only aimed to spread Christmas joy but also to recognize and appreciate the dedicated individuals who contribute tirelessly to the cleanliness and functionality of the cities.

SM City Grand Central took the lead by distributing a total of 400 Christmas cheers to pedicab drivers and other transport groups in Barangay 35, Maypajo, Caloocan. Meanwhile, SM Center Sangandaan and SM Savemore Malabon added to the festive spirit by generously handing out 190 and 120 Christmas Cheers to street clearing personnel and jeepney drivers in Malabon, Navotas, and Caloocan. SM City Valenzuela also extended the Christmas joy by distributing 190 Christmas packs to essential street workers residing in Karuhatan, Valenzuela.

A joint project of SM Foundation Inc. and SM Supermalls, SM Christmas Cheers aims to give love and happiness to the communities the mall serves. This heartwarming event was also made possible through the collaborative efforts of SM Cares, SM affiliates, and dedicated SM volunteers.
