Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright & Colin Powell Guest Star on the Fifth Season Premiere of Madam Secretary

Fans of Sony Channel’s political series, Madam Secretary, will be in for a treat with the guest appearances of former secretaries of state Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright and General Colin Powell in the fifth season premiere that airs Monday, October 8 at 9pm.

In this unprecedented episode, Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, played by award-winning actress Téa Leoni, turns to the former real-life secretaries of state to ask their advice on how best to respond to a delicate situation.

“We’re delighted to have these three former secretaries of state be part of our season premiere,” said Barbara Hall, Executive Producer and Series Creator. “It was a privilege to experience their perspectives and discourse both in and behind the scenes.”

Madeleine Albright, the first woman to become Secretary of State, held the position from 1997 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. General Colin Powell served as Secretary of State from 2001 until 2005 under President George Bush. Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State from 2009 until 2013 under President Barack Obama.

Executive produced by Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, Madam Secretary stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood and Evan Roe.

Madam Secretary returns on Monday, October 8 at 8:55pm on Sony Channel.

Medicine has come a long way since the ancient times. Mankind has struggled with finding out what really works when it comes to medical treatments. Technology has developed and research has evolved. Morphine is a classic and widely used painkiller back in the day. But there were side effects such as addiction that made people wary to use it in treatments. Enter a brand-new idea with a brand-new drug: heroin! It was primarily introduced as a safe and non-addictive substitute for morphine. Little did they know that they were using what would be one of the most dangerous and illegal drugs ever as a cure.

Shock Treatments for Impotence

Having trouble with the little guy? Give it a little shock! It was widely-believed that electric therapy or shock treatments was a cure for impotence or genital dysfunction. All of mankind now gives a sigh of relief that modern medicine threw that horrifying “cure” out.
