Exclusive LRT-2 and MRT-3 Cashback Up to 30% with GCash Commute QR

As more commuters embrace digital payments in their daily routine, GCash is expanding its support for cashless public transportation with a cashback promo for all LRT-2 riders and eligible MRT-3 riders who use the GCash Commute QR for their train fares.

From July 20 to August 20, 2026, eligible commuters who pay via GCash Commute QR will receive a 20-30% cashback on their LRT-2 and MRT-3 fare. It will be credited directly to the user's GCash e-wallet based on the scheduled payout dates.

“Innovation is most meaningful when it removes everyday friction and makes essential services more accessible. With GCash Commute QR, we're making cashless commuting simpler.” said Ferdie Perez, VP and head of innovation at GCash.

Furthermore, the initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts of GCash to expand the use of digital payments across everyday services, including public transportation, supporting broader access to convenient and cashless commuting options for Filipinos.

"This cashback promo is a way to help invite more commuters to experience the ease of using digital fare payments and brings added value on their everyday journeys," he added.

Commuters with a fully verified and active GCash account can enjoy exclusive cashback offers when they pay for their fares using GCash Commute QR during the respective promo periods. LRT-2 commuters can receive 20% cashback on eligible rides. New GCash Commute QR users on MRT-3, on the other hand, can enjoy 30% cashback on their first three rides, while the promo runs until August 20, 2026.

GCash continues to work with transport partners to expand cashless payment options that support a more convenient and accessible commuting experience for Filipinos.

GCash Ushers in More Seamless Train Commutes on LRT-2 via GCash Commute QR

Passengers of Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) can now pay for their fares directly from their phones using GCash Commute QR, making their commutes faster and more convenient.

GCash joined the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Light Rail Manila Transit Authority (LRTA), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), and Visa in the official launch of cashless payment options, including GCash Commute QR, at the LRT-2 servicing stations spanning Manila, San Juan, Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig, and Antipolo.

This is part of LRT-2's transition to a cashless payment system, which now also supports NFC-enabled Tap-to-Pay as well as Visa and Mastercard payments.

“This initiative supports rail modernization and the adoption of a National Standard for Automated Fare Collection, enabling more seamless, efficient, and integrated payments across transport modes,” said DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez.

GCash for Business General Manager, Paul Albano of G-Xchange Inc., mobile wallet operator of GCash, said, "We are committed to partnering with the government to modernize payments in public transportation and make commuting easier for more Filipinos.”

“Through payment innovation and strong public-private collaboration, we aim to support nation-building and help create a more inclusive digital economy," he added.

This rollout signifies the initial stage of a broader initiative to modernize fare systems on LRT-2. Moving forward, GCash also aims to enable GCash Tap-To-Pay and GCash Visa card for even more seamless entry and exit across all stations.

With cashless payments, passengers can go straight to the turnstile, scan their Commute QR, and head to the train platforms.

Entering the LRT-2 Lanes using the GCash Commute QR is easy:

1.     Tap Commute in the GCash app to generate your QR code, then save it for offline use. Make sure your GCash wallet has at least 16.50, following the discounted fares implemented by the DOTr.

2.     Proceed to the LRT-2 turnstile and scan your Commute QR to enter.

3.     At your destination, scan the same Commute QR at the exit turnstile. Your fare will be deducted automatically.

The cashless payment option is expected to benefit millions of commuters. According to the Light Rail Transit Authority, LRT-2 served over 58.7 million passengers last year.

With cashless entry now available at station turnstiles, passengers can move past the ticket lines, especially during rush hour. For students bound for the University Belt and workers navigating Metro Manila’s busiest corridors, the cashless payment rollout removes a familiar source of stress from the daily commute.

This launch builds on the successful integrations at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the EDSA Busway, where cashless payments via GCash have already proven reliable under high passenger volumes. Those deployments showed that digital fare systems can keep pace with real-world commuting demands, paving the way for expansion to the LRT-2’s high-traffic corridors.

Through technology, we are reducing wait times, ultimately aiming for a better commute experience for millions of Filipinos. Digital transformation is now active on LRT tracks, and with just a few taps, daily travel moves faster and with less friction.

Kasama Mo Mangarap: New GCash Stories Film Celebrates Second Chances with Atty. Sheila Gomez’s Journey to the Bar

Not every dream unfolds exactly as planned, and the journey toward making it a reality isn't always a straight path. Sometimes it calls for unwavering perseverance. Other times, it means finding the courage to take a second chance. And often, true progress comes from knowing when to ask for help so you can keep moving forward.

It's this spirit of courage and perseverance that takes center stage in the sixth installment of this years #GCashStories, the flagship campaign from the country’s No. 1 Finance Super App and Largest Cashless Ecosystem. Themed “Kasama Mo Mangarap,” this latest chapter reveals the deeply inspiring real-life journey of Atty. Sheila Gomez—a former legal aide whose lifelong dream of becoming an attorney was realized through sheer determination and responsible financial choices, with the timely support of GLoan.

“Our GCash Stories campaign showed us that the most powerful script is that of real life,” said Neil Trinidad, Chief Marketing Officer of Mynt. “Progress becomes possible when people are given the right support at the right time. At GCash, we believe our role goes far beyond providing financial tools—we want to empower Filipinos to keep moving forward. Every Filipino deserves to dream and deserves a second chance in pursuing just that. We take immense pride in Sheila’s journey because it is living proof that digital financial inclusion doesn't just solve a temporary problem; it turns everyday obstacles into real, lasting possibilities - dreams achieved.”

More Than Just a Story: The #GCashStories Movement

GCash Stories is a celebration of real Filipinos whose journeys remind us that progress is often built through everyday acts of courage, determination, and hope. Over the last three years, the campaign has evolved into a nationwide movement that transcends storytelling, capturing a rich collection of lived experiences that reflect the aspirations, challenges, and triumphs of underserved communities across the country and their individual stories of progress with the help of GCash.

By welcoming Atty. Sheila into this portfolio, GCash continues to spark vital conversations about financial inclusion. Her story adds to a powerful legacy of real-life breakthroughs previously featured by the brand:

Cocoy, a laid-off bartender who turned into a successful business owner with the help of GLoan.

Alma, a well-loved university employee who lost her home to Typhoon Ulysses but rebuilt it through community crowdfunding via GCash Send Money.

Turing, a drag queen and breadwinner who sustained her family during the pandemic by digital tipping via GCash QR.

Adz, a champion para-athlete who raised funds via GCash Send Money to advocate for the new generation of para-athletes.

Rhea Inayan, Ang Bayani ng Barangay from Bacolod City, who empowered a community through her GCash Pera Outlet, bringing essential financial services directly to her neighborhood

“At the heart of every GCash Story is a real story of financial progress,” said Lourdes Batac, GCash Head for Communication Strategy. "At the end of the day, GCash’s own narrative is not just about the products we’ve made, but how our products have transformed the lives of everyday Filipinos. We owe it to Cocoy, Ate Alma, Turing, Adz, Rhea, and Sheila for allowing GCash to share their story so that more Filipinos today can clearly imagine their own financial progress journey.”

Meet Atty. Sheila Gomez: From Dreamer to Lawyer

For Atty. Sheila Gomez, becoming a lawyer was a dream built on years of sacrifice. While working full-time as a legal aide, she tirelessly juggled the demands of her day job with the rigorous, exhausting requirements of law school, balancing long days at work with late nights of studying.

However, as law school expenses began to pile up alongside everyday living costs, Sheila faced an overwhelming reality familiar to millions of working Filipinos: the heavy weight of financial anxiety. Every enrollment and exam season brought a persistent fear of falling short. Rather than putting her life's calling on hold, she made the decision to turn to GLoan as her silent, reliable personal partner.

The loan provided her with the immediate financial flexibility to cover her law school expenses, allowing her to stay completely focused on her goals without compromising her self-worth or hiding in shame. Armed with this support, she successfully passed the Bar. Today, she continues her journey of financial progress as an active user of GCredit and GGives, proudly declaring, "Ako si Sheila, at ito ang aking GCash Story."

“One of the biggest lessons I learned is that perseverance doesn't always mean doing everything on your own. Sometimes, it means having the courage to seek the right support,” Atty. Sheila Gomez shared during a fireside chat. “It's unfortunate that many Filipinos see loans in a negative light, but when used responsibly and with a clear purpose, borrowing can be a powerful tool and a smart investment that moves you closer to your dreams. I'm grateful that GLoan gave me that opportunity.”

Fuse and GCash: Championing Fair and Respectful Lending

Atty. Sheila’s story highlights a critical reality in today’s economic landscape. Amidst inflation and a challenging local economy, many Filipinos still face predatory lenders or rigid, traditional systems that leave them feeling trapped rather than helped.

Celebrating its 10th year, Fuse Financing Inc., the lending arm of GCash, steps in to actively destigmatize the lending category, championing fair, transparent, and respectful financial practices. Proving that responsible lending should empower the borrower, protect their dignity, and provide a clear path forward, not a cycle of debt.

“Since our inception, we have pursued our mission: 'Fair loans that spark better every day for all Filipinos,'” said Tony Isidro, President and CEO of Fuse Financing Inc. “Everything we do rests on three core commitments: to provide fast, collateral-free loans; to ensure a safe and secure credit experience; and most importantly, to enable Filipinos to borrow with dignity. When paired with discipline and perseverance, responsible borrowing becomes a stepping stone to lasting financial progress.”

Enabling Every Filipino's Journey Toward a Better Future

While Sheila's triumph takes center stage, hers represents the millions of borrowers who turn to GLoan to continue their education, scale their livelihoods, support their families, and overcome unexpected challenges.

Through these collective experiences, GCash lives out its ultimate vision of Finance for All. By meeting Filipinos exactly where they are, GCash reinforces the universal truth that every individual has the right to dream and achieve those dreams, no matter their socioeconomic situation.

From Saver to Millionaire: How a Delivery Rider’s Financial Discipline Paid Off with GSave

A delivery rider from Bautista, Pangasinan is proving that consistent saving can lead to meaningful results after winning 1 million through the Spin to Win promo from GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance superapp and largest cashless ecosystem.

Jolan, who has been using GCash since 2019, built his savings habit long before adopting digital tools. He started by setting aside small amounts in a traditional alkansya or piggy bank, driven by a simple goal: to secure his future and achieve personal milestones. Over time, this discipline became a routine that shaped how he managed his finances.

Saving consistently for years paid off when he won 1 million through GSave’s Spin to Win promo. The campaign rewarded eligible GSave users with chances to win prizes by depositing and growing their savings. For Jolan, the win further reinforced the value of staying committed to his financial goals.

Hindi ako agad naniwala noong una (na nanalo ako), pero nung nakumpirma na, doon ko na-realize na may bunga talaga ang pagtitiyaga sa pag-iipon,” Jolan shared. (I didn’t believe it at first (that I had won), but once it was confirmed, that’s when I realized that perseverance in saving really pays off.)

GSave is a savings feature within the GCash app that allows users to securely store money and earn interest. It is designed to make saving more accessible by integrating it into a platform that many Filipinos already use for daily transactions.

For Jolan, shifting from a piggy bank to GSave made a significant difference. He said the added security gave him peace of mind, while the ability to track his savings helped him stay consistent. Seeing his balance grow, along with the interest earned, became a strong motivator to continue saving.

Mas kampante ako na nasa GSave ang pera ko dahil mas secure ito, at nakikita ko pa kung paano ito lumalaki, kaya mas ginaganahan akong mag-ipon,” Jolan said. (I feel more confident keeping my money in GSave because it’s more secure, and I can see my savings grow over time, which motivates me to save even more.)

His approach to saving remains straightforward: set aside any amount he can whenever possible and make a conscious effort to limit unnecessary spending. Jolan believes that discipline and consistency matter more than the amount saved, and that even small contributions can build over time.

Despite winning 1 million, he has no plans to spend the money immediately. Instead, he intends to keep saving and use the prize to strengthen his long-term financial security. For him, the win is an opportunity to move closer to the goals he has been working toward for years.

Jolan encourages fellow GCash users to start saving, regardless of how small the amount may be. He believes expenses carefully and avoiding unnecessary purchases can make a significant difference over time.

Saving, he said, is a habit that anyone can build with consistency and discipline. With the right tools and mindset, even small steps can lead to greater financial stability.

As the digital savings platform of GCash, GSave democratizes access to financial services and helps Filipinos address traditional banking challenges like manual paperwork submission, physical branch queuing, and deposit limits. It allows users to seamlessly open and manage accounts from top partner banks—such as CIMB, BPI, Maybank, UNO Digital Bank, and Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank—all through their mobile phones. To make secure wealth-building more frictionless, GSave features no minimum deposit, no maintaining balance, and no transfer fee requirements, ensuring anyone can start saving instantly.

STI West Negros University Expands Access to Cashless Solutions through Tuition and School Fee Payments via GCash GBills

Students and parents at STI West Negros University can now pay tuition and other school fees through GCash following the university’s partnership with the country’s leading finance app through the GBills platform.

The agreement between STI West Negros University and GCash, formalized through a ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), aims to augment traditional manual payment systems with a more streamlined digital process, enabling stakeholders to settle institutional fees via the GCash app.

The partnership comes as schools and universities across the Philippines continue expanding digital services introduced during the pandemic, with many institutions seeking faster and more accessible payment channels for students and parents.

With the integration, STI West Negros University students and families can use the GBills feature in the GCash app to pay tuition and other fees without the need to visit physical payment centers or campus cashier offices.

The integration is expected to streamline payment transactions, reducing queues and manual processing while providing students and parents with a more convenient way to settle tuition and other school-related fees.

“At STI West Negros University, we continuously look for ways to enhance the student and parent experience beyond the classroom,” said Dr. Ryan Mark S. Molina, president and COO of STI West Negros University.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to modernizing our services and adopting solutions that make administrative processes simpler, more efficient, and more responsive to the needs of the school community,” he added.

This collaboration forms part of its broader push to support digital transformation in the education sector while widening access to cashless financial services outside major urban centers.

“Education plays a vital role in shaping the future, and access to convenient financial services should support that journey,” said GCash VP and head of sales Cleo Celeste Santos. “By enabling seamless tuition and school fee payments through GBills, we are not only improving everyday transactions for students and parents but also form part of our mission of driving financial inclusion and supporting nation-building through digital innovation,” she added.

The rollout of GCash GBills forms part of the university’s broader efforts to strengthen its digital payment infrastructure and support a more seamless campus experience.

Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and GCash Support Livelihood Opportunities for Returning OFWs

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has partnered with GCash, the country’s leading finance super app and largest cashless ecosystem, to strengthen support for overseas Filipinos and returning migrants, particularly those who come home without a steady source of income.

Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) often face financial uncertainty after their employment abroad ends, with limited access to coordinated reintegration support, sustainable income opportunities, and financial management tools. The partnership seeks to address these gaps through a more accessible and streamlined support system.

By integrating CFO’s initiatives into the GCash digital ecosystem, the collaboration provides returning migrants with seamless access to essential reintegration programs, financial services, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Additionally, the partnership will streamline government transactions by facilitating new digital payment channels for CFO services.

As part of the initiative, a dedicated migrant marketplace will be developed within the GCash app, enabling returning Filipinos to explore small business opportunities and alternative sources of income.

CFO Chairperson Dante Ang II also said the partnership reinforces the agency’s mandate to support Filipinos overseas and upon their return.

“We are pleased to welcome another valued partner in advancing our financial literacy initiatives. Now more than ever, it is essential that Filipinos overseas are provided with wider support and education on digital savings, responsible investment practices, and overall financial wellness,” he said.

The initiative is expected to improve access to reintegration services, strengthen financial capability, and expand income-generating opportunities for returning migrants, while enhancing the delivery of government support through both digital and on-ground channels.

GCash head of international transfers Julie Ann Abalos said the partnership reflects the continued commitment of GCash to financial inclusion.

"More than just a formal agreement, this is a shared promise that wherever Filipinos may be in the world, they have a trusted partner in helping them progress and achieve their dreams," she said.

The partnership will be rolled out in phases through 2026, with further details to be announced as programs are implemented.

GCash will also support the commission’s Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) and orientation programs, helping equip OFWs with the knowledge and tools they need throughout their journey: from departure to eventual return and reintegration.

Beyond supporting reintegration efforts, GCash also aims to assist migrants who have already settled in their respective countries, enabling them to stay financially connected with their loved ones in the Philippines.

GCash Brings Opportunities, Innovation and Financial Empowerment for the Next Wave of Filipino Freelancers at the First Regional Community Connect in Pampanga

At a time of rising costs and economic uncertainty, freelancing has emerged as a growing source of opportunity. As more Filipinos turn to freelancing as a viable long-term career, many are adopting digital tools like the GCash Virtual US Account to simplify cross-border payments.

Recognizing this, the GCash Freelancer Connect, a series of community events designed to bring freelancers based in different cities in the country, made its way to Pampanga for its first regional leg. Attendees gathered to learn from speakers KD Creatives and Dani Jacobe, who led practical sessions on how to diversify income streams, charge more competitive prices, and build greater financial confidence with the support of tools like GCash. Here are key insights shared during the event:

Strong relationships create steady opportunities

With more Filipinos entering the freelancing industry, standing out has become a bigger challenge. For Dani Jacobe, building meaningful connections – and knowing how to communicate value clearly – makes all the difference.

“Your goal is not just to find one client. Your goal is to build a system that helps you keep finding and serving clients,” she shared.

What she has learned over the years is that outreach should go beyond simply introducing one’s services. Freelancers should learn to identify problems, offer clear solutions, and create opportunities for intentional conversations from the very beginning.

“Your skill becomes more valuable when you connect it to a specific business need,” she added.

Be confident in your worth

For Kyla Dizon, the journey to becoming “KD Creatives” didn’t happen overnight. Before building her online community around content creation and offering digital guides and advice through her platform, she experienced self-doubt and pressure as a young freelancer. One area where that hit hard was in communicating her value to potential clients.

“The truth is, a lot of freelancers are incredibly talented, but still undercharge because they haven’t fully recognized the value of what they bring to the table,” she explained.

The turning point came when she stopped pricing from a place of fear or being scared that clients would walk away because she’d be too expensive and instead, began pricing from a place of confidence. But that confidence, Kyla noted, came only once she fully embraced her personal brand as a freelancer.

“Now, I approach pricing differently — not based on fear, but on the value and experience I know I can deliver,” she explained. During the Freelancer Connect, she urged attendees to use a pricing matrix, which she has made available online, to accurately determine how much they should charge clients for the services they offer.

Receiving payments should not feel complicated

Another common challenge freelancers face is receiving payments, especially from overseas clients, where the process is often inefficient. To address this, GCash has introduced the Virtual US Account, a feature designed to make receiving USD payments easier.

Users can now receive USD transfers directly from US-based clients using their own routing and account numbers, similar to a traditional US bank, within the GCash app. This feature helps freelancers avoid unnecessary deductions, hidden fees, and lengthy transfer processes, while also ensuring competitive forex rates. Users can convert their USD to PHP when it is most favorable for them – they have full control of when they want to withdraw it into their GCash e-wallet.

“We want to ensure that freelancers in the Philippines can receive and manage their money in the most convenient way possible and in a manner that ensures they don’t lose so much of their hard-earned cash. Once in your Virtual US Account, you can access and manage your earnings instantly inside the GCash app – whether that’s converting to PHP, paying bills, buying load, or even growing your wealth through our financial services,” shared Sophia Sison, Product Manager under the International Business Group at GCash.

Create your Virtual US Account today

As freelancing continues to grow across the country, GCash hopes initiatives like the Freelancer Connect can help create more spaces where freelancers feel supported — not just financially, but as a community navigating a rapidly changing world of work together.

Creating your Virtual US Account is easy:

1.     Open the GCash app - Tap US Accounts in the Explore the App section

2.     Tap Continue and verify your information

3.     Complete your account creation

GCash and BARMM Treasury Simplify Regional Digital Collections

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), through its collecting Ministries, Offices, and Agencies, will soon introduce a more convenient way for constituents to pay government fees and complete transactions following a new partnership between the Bangsamoro Treasury Office (BTO), a sectoral office under the Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Management, and GCash.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving access to public services by providing a digital platform that connects government services directly to constituents, making transactions simpler, faster, and more accessible across the region.

Payment processes have largely remained traditional, with many transactions still done manually and requiring constituents to visit field offices to complete them. For those in remote and far-flung areas, this often results in additional time, cost, and inconvenience.

As emphasized by Minister Ubaida C. Pacasem of the Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management—BARMM, “The partnership between the BTO and GCash is a powerful vehicle for change, and we are fully committed to steering it toward success. We are ready to do the work today, tomorrow, and in the years to come,” she added.

The Bangsamoro Treasury Office’s initiative to introduce digital payment channels aims to address these challenges by bringing services closer to communities while ensuring that proper guidelines and controls are observed.

“Bangsamoro Treasury Office acknowledges that this partnership is an important step not only in strengthening our collection systems, but also in guiding Bangsamoro Ministries, Offices, and Agencies as we encourage the adoption of digital payment options to serve communities across BARMM better,” said Chief Naila Z. Dimaraw, Bangsamoro treasurer.

“At its core, this initiative is about financial inclusion. We know the realities of our geography. Across the mainland and island provinces, access to traditional banking infrastructure has long been a challenge. By partnering with GCash, we are embracing a more mobile future for public service delivery, bridging the gap and enabling constituents to pay fees, taxes, and other dues more conveniently, without the need for long travel or waiting in line,” the Bangsamoro treasurer chief added.

GCash remains committed to contributing to the Bangsamoro Government’s efforts to promote financial inclusion and strengthen the efficiency of revenue collection. The partnership also highlights how digital tools can make it easier for citizens to engage with Bangsamoro Ministries, Offices, and Agencies, fostering a more seamless and citizen-centered service experience.

“GCash recognizes the priorities, systems, and the needs of the communities of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao,” said Cleo Celeste Santos, Head of GCash Public Sector. “We stand ready to support where we are most needed—empowering institutions, enhancing service delivery, and helping build a more inclusive, citizen-centered digital ecosystem for the Bangsamoro Government and its people,” she added.

As digital adoption continues to grow, this collaboration marks a step toward a more accessible and responsive government—where public services are easier to access and better aligned with the everyday needs of communities.

If It’s Not Giving Green Flags, It’s Not Your Savings Account

If your savings account is giving low interest, too many requirements, and zero growth… that’s not a green flag. A lot of us treat our payroll account like a waiting room. Salary comes in, bills out, then repeat ulit next cutoff. Sure, it’s convenient, but if your money is just sitting there earning almost nothing, it’s basically ghosting your financial goals.

And with prices constantly going up, keeping your money idle can actually cost you in the long run. Because while everything else is moving, your savings stay stuck.

The good news? You don’t need a total financial glow-up overnight. Enter the high-yield savings account.
Think of it as the green flag version of a regular savings account. Same accessibility, same convenience—but with way better returns. Instead of your money just sitting there, it quietly grows in the background while you go about your life.
So if you’re looking for a savings account that’s actually worth committing to, here are the green flags to watch out for:
Competitive Interest Rates
First, look at the interest rate—if the interest rate barely makes a difference, that’s the bare minimum. A “high-yield” account should help your money grow noticeably faster than a traditional savings account. Because your savings deserve better than crumbs.

Hassle-Free Account Setup
Next, getting started should be simple—no minimum deposit, no transfer fees, and easy movement between your spending wallet and savings whenever you need. If opening an account feels like a group project, hard pass. The best savings accounts are fully digital, easy to manage, and simple to use straight from your phone.

Easy to Start, Easy to Maintain
It should also be easy to get started. No one wants a savings account with too many requirements. A good high-yield account lets you start without huge deposits, maintaining balances, or complicated paperwork.

Always Within Reach
It should stay flexible, too. Your money should still feel like your money. Look for an account that lets you access your savings when needed—without lock-in periods or unnecessary stress.

Makes You Feel Safe and Assured
Finally, make sure it’s secure and trustworthy. Of course, trust matters. A good savings account should come from credible platforms or banks with proper security and safeguards in place.

GSave: The High-Yield Savings Account That’s Actually Giving
Plus, it checks all the green flags:
Up to 4.15% p.a. interest rates
No maintaining balance
No transfer fees back to your GCash wallet
No extra documents to stress over
And for new users, there’s even a limited-time First Ipon Bonus. Just register with any GSave bank partner, deposit at least ₱100, and keep it there for 30 days to get ₱30 Cash Credits. Easy.
At the end of the day, smart saving shouldn’t feel complicated or intimidating. Sometimes, it’s really just about choosing a savings account that matches your goals instead of slowing them down.
Because if it’s not giving green flags, it’s probably not the savings account for you.
To open an account on GSave you must be a Filipino Citizen, at least 18 years old, and a fully verified GCash user. Ready to grow your money? You may access  GSave through the GCash dashboard or find it under “Grow.” No GCash yet? Download the GCash App on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery. Kaya mo, i-GCash mo!

GCash Accepts Government-Issued Foreign IDs to Simplify App Verification for OFWs in the Middle East

To expedite access to essential digital financial services for Filipinos abroad, GCash now supports the use of foreign-issued IDs: Emirates ID (UAE), Iqama ID (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Civil ID, and Qatar Residency Permit for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Middle East for account verification. This enhancement helps streamline the onboarding process, allowing eligible users to complete verification more efficiently and access services faster, subject to standard security and eligibility checks.

Previously, applicants were required to submit additional documents to help establish ties to the Philippines, often involving manual email exchanges and extended processing times. For OFWs managing demanding work schedules, limited connectivity, and time constraints, these additional steps frequently delayed full account activation and limited timely access to essential financial services, with verification requirements varying by individual circumstances.

With the updated flow, verification is fully completed within the GCash app from registration to ID upload and submission, with approvals processed within 48 hours.

Accepted IDs include the Emirates ID (UAE), Iqama ID (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Civil ID, and Qatar Residency Permit. Once verified, users gain full access to core services such as Send Money, Bank Transfer, and Pay Bills, enabling more seamless financial management and faster remittance support for families in the Philippines.

The initiative is focused on newly registered users in the Middle East, particularly those within their first seven days of sign-up. It will run up to July 11, 2026, with previously submitted applications under the old process eligible for resubmission to benefit from faster processing.

Given the scale of Filipino migration in the Gulf region and the critical role of remittances in household and national economic support, the update strengthens access to essential financial tools where they are needed most. By reducing onboarding barriers, GCash enables more OFWs to manage money digitally, send support home more efficiently, and participate more fully in the digital financial ecosystem.

These enhancements reflect the commitment of GCash in helping address real-world conditions abroad, making financial services more accessible, responsive, and immediately usable for Filipinos wherever they are.
