McDonald’s Encourages Kids to Learn New Skills, Find New Friends, and Gain New Knowledge as it Brings Back the Kiddie Crew Workshop

Manila, Philippines – July 19, 2023 – McDonald’s is thrilled to announce that Kiddie Crew Workshop is back to provide new experiences and re-acquaint kids with the wonders of face to face activities. After a three-year hiatus, McDonald's is excited to reintroduce this cherished program, delighting kids with interactive activities and unforgettable adventures.

The love and trusted Kiddie Crew Workshop has long been a source of joy for children since 1991, providing kids aged 6-12 with a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun in a vibrant and engaging environment. This year, the Kiddie Crew Workshop embraces the "Happy Voyagers" theme, inviting young participants to embark on a thrilling journey of discovery where kids will get to explore different aspects of the McDonald's experience, from food preparation like making their all-time-favorite McDonald’s Cheeseburger, to serving delighted customers from behind the Front Counter or the Drive-Thru window, learning about teamwork, and more.

The Kiddie Crew Workshop will run from July 31 to September 1, offering a comprehensive five-day program with each day lasting for 2 hours of fun-filled learning activities for only P895 inclusive of a Kiddie Crew uniform and workshop meals.

Kami naman, Ma! McDonald’s Captures the Essence of Biving Back to our Mothers with its Mother’s Day Short Film

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – May 12, 2023 – As we grow up, our mothers are growing old too. This Mother’s Day, McDonald’s releases its Mother’s Day short film that captures the essence of appreciating the love and care our mothers gave us while we were growing up. Now that we’ve grown, it’s for us to step up, give back, and say “kami naman, Ma!”

The short film opens with a daughter meticulously going through her mother’s travel bag then finds that she forgot to pack her senior citizen ID, to which her mom affectionately jokes, “senior moment!” Soon enough, her mom’s friends start coming in to fetch her for their trip, but before going away, the daughter hands over McDonald’s as a pabaon, an act of love that our mothers have done for us many times when we were growing up. The short film ends with a flashback to when it was still the mom sending off her little daughter to a field trip, indicating how times have already changed and now it’s time for the daughter to give back what her mother has done for her while growing up.

McDonald’s Opens its Doors again to Provide Safe Space for Students’ After-School Studying

Manila, Philippines – March 30, 2023 – McDonald's recognizes the importance of education and the challenges students face in finding a safe and conducive learning environment for after-school work. With this in mind, McDonald's continues to provide a solution that caters to their needs.

In 2020, over 200 McDonald’s Party Areas were turned into McDonald’s Classroom that catered to teachers’ need for a safe, work-friendly place to conduct their online classes. Coming from the success and impact of the McDonald’s Classroom in the past years, McDonald’s elevates the program to better utilize its party areas and maximize the use of it during the night time. Starting March 28, 2023, 60 participating McDonald’s stores near key universities open their doors to students nationwide to the McDonald's Night Classroom that shall cater to their late night study sessions from 8 PM to 6 AM daily.

The McDonald's Night Classroom is equipped with solo study and wide table setups and free WiFi access in select stores for uninterrupted study and work sessions. Aside from a space to work and study, participants can also enjoy big deals and discounts on their McDonald’s favorites with exclusive offers from the McDonald’s App starting April 1. With the Night Classroom, students can now have a convenient and comfortable location to complete their academic tasks, allowing them to maximize their productivity.

McDonald’s Inspires Kids to Dream big in the Launch of the Happy Meal Readers “I Can” Book Series

PHILIPPINES – March 17, 2023 – Every outstanding personality— from scientists to athletes and artists— started as a child with a dream. This is what’s captured in the new McDonald’s Happy Meal Readers “I Can” book series.

Launched on March 10, the new range of books features the inspiring stories of sports champions, curious scientists, and brave adventurers— people who went on to do great things, but started just like everyone else: as a child with a dream.

To officially launch the new books, McDonald’s Philippines brought together children of all ages to the “I Can Dream Big” event in McDonald’s U.N. Del Pilar. Held on March 16, the event transformed the Play Place into a labyrinth of dream-inspiring activities based on the three new books of the “I Can” book series, namely the Color Lab booth for future scientists, the Sports Center booth with a punching pad, and the Explorer Pit for adventurers. The culmination of the event was the live reading of the “I Can Be a Sports Champion” book led by Steph Ongkiko as the storyteller. In this first book of the series, children will learn from the inspiring stories of tennis player Evonne Goolagong, racing driver Ayrton Senna, and boxer Muhammad Ali.

Aside from the “I Can Dream Big” event, McDonald’s also celebrated the launch of the new Happy Meal Readers books with the return of Happy Meal O’Clock, a live streamed event on Facebook where McDonald’s shows how its Happy Meal offerings can make playtime more fun, engaging, and meaningful for both children and parents. The new Happy Meal O’Clock episode had a theme of Bonding Over Books featuring McDonald’s ambassadors Ryan and Judy Ann Agoncillo who shared the importance of reading to not only lessen screen time, but to also cultivate bonding as a family.
