Century Pacific Plant-Based Brands Allow Consumers to Help Plant Trees for Mother Earth

unMeat

How would you like to buy your favorite plant-based products and help the environment by having a coconut tree planted on your behalf?

To celebrate Earth Week 2021, Century Pacific Food Inc (CNPF), one of the largest branded food companies in the Philippines, is enjoining consumers to join its mission to give back to Mother Earth and to Philippine coconut farmers by planting trees to increase coconut supply, help the environment, and minimize carbon emissions.

CNPF, in partnership with non-profit organization HOPE, encourages and challenges its customers to plant a tree, support our local farmers, and minimize carbon emissions through its portfolio of healthy brands – Coco Mama, Vita Coco, and unMeat.

Coco Mama and Vita Coco offer consumers a convenient way to enjoy the goodness of coconuts – rich in potassium, high in antioxidants, and with healthy benefits for the heart, kidney, and blood sugar. UnMeat, a 100% plant-based brand, is a healthy meat alternative made with non-GMO plant-based ingredients, zero cholesterol and trans-fat, while remaining a good source of protein and fiber.

The company is offering special product bundles of these brands, and each bundle comes with a guarantee that one tree will be planted on behalf of the customers. Proceeds for the promo will go to the coconut farmers of Sarangani.

The bundle offerings are in line with CNPF’s broader sustainability program, specifically a long-term commitment to provide Philippine farmers 100,000 free coconut seedlings to farmers every year, over the next 5 to 8 years.

On top of expanding coconut supply in South Central Mindanao and helping augment the income of 16,000 farmers and their families, the new trees are expected to offset about 416,680 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions, allowing CNPF’s coconut business to be “carbon neutral” by 2028.

To join and support this project, consumers simply need to purchase bundles of Coco Mama, Vita Coco, and unMeat at Century Pacific’s food stores in Shopee and Lazada. The bundles are available from April 19 to 25.

Coco Mama Fresh Gata, the coconut cream that has first pressed quality, joins this campaign to help protect our environment. For every purchase of 5 pieces Coco Mama 200 mL, CNPF guarantees one tree will be planted on behalf of the customer.

Hydrate naturally with the coconut goodness of Vita Coco as it offers 11+1 Coconut Water 330ml Promo Pack which entitles customers to one tree to be planted on their behalf. With this offer, you are not only boosting and loading your body with electrolytes but also protecting and nourishing Mother Earth.

Flexitarians, and fans of plant-based meals can choose from two bundles of unMeat: Pack 1 – Burger, Nuggets, and Giniling; and Pack 2 – Sausage, Nuggets, and Giniling. For every purchase of one bundle, a tree will be planted by CNPF.

So have a meaningful Earth Week celebration by shopping with these healthy brands that are not just good for you, but good for the planet too.

The Coco Mama, Vita Coco, and unMeat bundle offers are available until April 25 on the Century Food Store and SWIFT Official Store in Shopee, Lazada, and Swift Meat E-tindahan.

Pasig City, Philippines; February 26, 2020—Santé, a provider of premier organic health and wellness products and services, formally introduced celebrity fitspiration Matteo Guidicelli, as its newest ambassador, alongside TV host and weatherman Kuya Kim Atienza, recently at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila in Pasig City.

According to Santé CEO Joey Marcelo, 2020 will be an exciting year for the brand, especially with the addition of Guidicelli to its roster of brand ambassadors.

"Aside from being an actor, singer, and a triathlete, Matteo embodies healthy living. As a company, this is what we, at Santé, are passionate about. We are glad and excited to welcome Matteo to the Santé family and, we hope that he will serve as a true fitspiration for everyone," Marcelo added.

As an actor, model, member of the armed forces, businessman, and triathlete, he knows how important it is for him to stay healthy so he could live more and do more things in life. And because there are so many exciting developments to his career and personal life this year, the need to stay healthy so he could enjoy the journey has become even more important to him. Matteo Guidicelli also expressed his excitement, especially that he has known Santé as a brand that promotes a healthier and more active lifestyle.

“Ever since I started joining triathlons, I have seen and raced along with the Santé Barley TriTeam, Kuya Kim, and Sir Joey. I also have always dreamed of being part of the Santé family,” added Matteo. “Santé, as a brand, also just talks about the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. It is very positive. And so, I am excited and honored to represent the brand.”

Kuya Kim, on the other hand, is also ecstatic about Matteo, joining him as a Santé ambassador. “I, personally, know Matteo and his family. When he gets into something, he’s really into it. Kuya Kim Atienza has been Sante's ambassador for ten years. He said that he started taking Santé Barley, the company’s flagship product, a few years ago, after learning about the health benefits of organic barley grass. Indeed, he credits Santé Barley as instrumental in how he has not only bounced back from ill-health, but more importantly, how he has maintained his health that has allowed him to stay healthy, be more active and live more.

“There is a saying that health is wealth. It may sound cliché because people use it all the time but, I know that through experience because I almost died twice—when I had a stroke in 2010 and when I got sick again in 2013. After those two health scares, it was embedded in my mind, and my heart, that I should be healthy not just for myself but also for my family and my God,” added Kuya Kim.

Santé Barley is made from organic pure barley grass, an effective antioxidant, rich with vitamins and minerals that not only detoxifies the body but also aids in digestive health. This product is also certified by BioGro, New Zealand’s leading organic certification agency.

Aside from Santé Barley, the company also offers other products and services that improve the quality of life of people around the world since it was founded in 2007.

“The whole Santé family is glad to welcome Matteo Guidicelli, as well as to celebrate the renewal of our partnership with Kuya Kim Atienza, who has been with us for ten years. We look forward to a stronger year as we continue encouraging everyone to live more and do more,” Marcelo added.

Gab Banal: Changing the Game Under the Hoop

Imus, Cavite—January 2020—For some, playing basketball may seem just a game to play, but in reality, it takes a lot of sweat, courage, passion, and commitment to gain strides and bring the team to triumph.

Take it from Gab Banal, one of today’s local basketball scene’s beasts.

Defining the Game

For Gab Banal, a former Mapua Cardinal, PBA-D League MVP, former FIBA 3x3 representative, and now MPBL’s two-time Most Valuable Player, basketball has always been a personal love. His years mainly consisted of playing the ball game budded to such milestones a player can only dream off.
“Playing Basketball always has been close to my heart. That love turned to passion, and led me to dream to strive continuously to improve and better myself every time I step in the hard-court,” said Banal.

Gab has been in various professional leagues and, his mindset has always been aimed towards winning after the buzzer sounds. “The will to win has got me going from the very start. It also made me beat the weaknesses and grow the strengths that got me where I am now,” said Banal.

Rising to the top

Despite the limelight and the crowd's deafening chants during the game, basketball can be a bit tough yet sweet, especially when you live in a basketball-loving country. Undisputed professional leagues emerged as a high-paced and high-action competition, where the best players compete.

Banal used to play sparingly in the PBA, which, arguably, the country’s highest-level league, but it was in other competitions that he proved his might even more. To name a few, he was one of those who represented the country for tournaments like the Asia League, FIBA 3x3 Challenger, and the William Jones Cup.

“Basketball is a tough competition. To compete, you need to put yourself to a certain level—100 percent, or even more. The battle of wit and grit made me fall in love with it. The adrenaline in the dying minutes, the battle of heart and physicality, and the responsibility to take my team to the next level also serve as my fuel," said Banal.

Doing the Drills

With the sport being a physically-taxing feat, he needs the right physicality to ace the competition and delivers his A-game.

“On and off the court, I make sure that I do work-outs and exercises with no wasted movements or energy. I simulate it to the game, boosting my confidence since I know I am equipped enough,” said Banal.
Gab does his training and drills at Sante Fitness Lab (SFL) – a premier one-stop fitness center that offers holistic training programs, as well as innovative recovery and sports rehabilitation. He considers this training and fitness center as his game-changer for an elite game level.

“Sante Fitness Lab delivers me the right fitness regimen for keeping-up my A-game. The Equipment is leveled world-class that supplements my work-outs. And with my training and drills, SFL has got me covered with a tailor-fitted program helping me improve and intensify my performance. The recovery program also has been my edge, helping me be back on the court stronger and better amid a physically tolling game,” added Banal.

More for Banal

Gab is soaring, once more, in the court to dominate the MPBL, being one of the frontrunners of the Bacoor Strikers.

As he lives his dream under the hoop, his basketball-enriched journey was not easy. But through sheer will and unwavering dedication, he found his footing to become one of the Philippine-based league’s supreme.

The chase of happiness was not impossible after all and, the saying, “hard work beats talent when talent fails the hard work,” sums it up.

“To all aspiring basketball players out there, you need to work hard but work smarter. Develop all your aspects, not only as a player but also as a person. Work on your mental, spiritual, and physical health. Do what you love. Be passionate and never stop chasing that dream of playing hoops,” said Banal.

Healthy Dishes that are Perfect for Noche Buena

November 2019 – Makati City, Philippines – The Christmas season is a time for gift-giving, merry-making, family get-togethers, and – let’s face it – binging. Yes, we love our food, and when the holiday season comes, we love it even more often by going from party to party and dinner to dinner. We often pig out on everything we want to eat, yet we do not realize that it brings both short and long-term health problems.

Overindulgence in food is an inevitable part of this year's festive season, but an official of the Department of Health (DOH) has reminded the public to prepare and eat healthy food. Undersecretary and Public Health Service Team Officer-In-Charge Myrna Cabotaje said most Filipino families serve unhealthy food during the holidays, which could cause high blood pressure and diabetes.

It is recommended that families prepare healthy foods during the holiday season opting for more greens than meats, but getting kids to eat vegetables in place of meat dishes during Noche Buena can be challenging.

To help moms plan their Christmas dinners to be more healthy for their kids, BEKO, Europe’s leading brand of home appliances, recommends some delicious dishes that promise to not only brighten the Christmas table but make it a lot more healthy as well.

This veggie-based Italian-inspired dish made of broccoli, cheese, pizza sauce, and eggs make a delicious Christmas meal that kids will surely enjoy and love.

Pesto salad with chicken

Baked salmon, potato, and zucchini

Fish is always a healthy choice because it is rich in omega 3, so this salmon, potato, and zucchini casserole is sure to be both filling yet light and easy on the waistline.

Cottage pie

If your family wants something a little more filling, this pie made of minced beef or steak meat, garlic, red onions, leek, carrots, celery, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, cauliflower, potatoes and baked to perfection is sure to satisfy.

Get the right appliances

Getting the right appliances is also a practice of promoting good health. It provides the benefits of lasting freshness in storing foods and ingredients and keeps its nutrients intact for a tasteful and nourishing savory.

For instance, Beko’s GN163123P side-by-side is packed with innovative features, such as the NeoFrostTM Dual Cooling technology that maintains ideal airflow and optimal temperatures with a high level of humidity, so food stays fresher for longer with no frost building up and no odor transferring.
