Celebrating Future Educators: REX and UP Honors Outstanding Graduates of UP College of Education with Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence

Rex Education recently recognized the exceptional achievements of the 2025 graduating class of the University of the Philippines College of Education by presenting the REX Edukampyon–UP College of Education Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence to this year’s summa cum laude graduates.

 

Earning the distinction of summa cum laude is no small feat. It demands years of discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence—not just in academics, but in personal growth and service to others. For students in the College of Education, the journey is especially challenging. It means mastering one’s field of specialization while also honing the patience, empathy, and communication skills that the teaching profession requires. Many balance these demands alongside community involvement, part-time work, or family responsibilities, making their success even more remarkable.

 

Understanding the importance of recognizing this hard work, Rex Education, in partnership with the University of the Philippines College of Education, presented the REX Edukampyon–UP College of Education Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence to nine members of the 2025 graduating class. The award recognizes students who graduated summa cum laude and highlights their academic achievement and readiness to enter the teaching profession.

Pru Life UK Employees Champion Bayanihan Spirit in Brigada Eskwela 2025

Pru Life UK once again rolled up its sleeves for Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Education’s nationwide schools maintenance programme, rallying employee volunteers last month in support of Pleasant Hills Elementary School in Mandaluyong City.

The initiative began at the Pru Life UK’s headquarters, where employees painted pots and planted vegetable seedlings. These were later donated during a school outreach, part of a wider effort to prepare classrooms for the new academic year.

Volunteers spent the day painting walls, cleaning rooms, and organising books—bringing fresh energy to the school community. Pru Life UK also provided painting materials to support ongoing refurbishment needs.

“It’s fulfilling to give back in such a tangible way,” shares Maria Junifer Maliglig, one volunteer. “Seeing the impact first-hand is what makes it all worth it.”

ASGC PARTNERS WITH MYPHONE TO GIVE STUDENTS FREE PHONES IN SUPPORT OF E-LEARNING SET UP

As the new school year approaches, Academia System Global Colleges of Talisay City, Cebu has partnered with the first Filipino phone brand in the Philippines, MyPhone, to provide free cellular phones for Grade 10 completers.

In addition, ASGC reiterated that if a student opt not to receive a cellular phone, they will still be entitled for the free allowance of P500, free educational supplies, free P.E. uniform, and other inclusions in line with their offer of free tuition, miscellaneous, and other school fees for Grade 10 completers from public schools.

Coca-Cola Iloilo Gives Back, Fields Volunteers through Brigada Eskwela

For over a decade now, associates from Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) Iloilo have been volunteering in the Brigada Eskwela program of the Department of Education, helping repair and prepare public elementary and high school classrooms and other facilities before the opening of classes. Amazing Student Housing Experience at Casa Esperanza

Demand for quality student dorms is at an all-time high, with more and more students from out of town on the lookout for student housing that will enhance their student life.
