NBA EXTENDS PARTNERSHIPS WITH GLOBE TELECOM, PLDT AND SMART TO BRING NBA LEAGUE PASS TO FANS IN THE PHILIPPINES


MANILA, PHILIPPINES, Nov. 5, 2019 – The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced an expansion of existing partnerships with Globe Telecom (Globe), Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) and PLDT, Inc., leading digital services and telecommunications providers, to distribute NBA League Pass, the league’s premium live game subscription service, to their more than 213 million total subscribers nationwide.

Globe, Smart and PLDT will feature League Pass, Team Choice and 3-Game Choice packages in monthly pricing options starting as low as Php 85, and a weekly pricing offer for the League Pass package.  For streaming games on mobile devices, Globe subscribers can register to Globe’s data packages by texting GoWATCH 29, GoWATCH 99 or GoWATCH399 to 8080, while Smart subscribers can register to Smart’s data packages by dialing *123# and choosing GIGA VIDEO.

NBA League Pass will continue to provide the most comprehensive live and on-demand access to an entire season of NBA games in high-definition with live stats and multiple viewing options, including the NBA Mobile View, which delivers a closer shot of the action optimized for viewing on mobile phones, tablets and connected devices.  Team Choice is available for all 30 teams, giving fans the option to follow one team and watch their favorite players throughout the season, while the new 3-Game Choice enables users to watch up to three games of their choice per month.  

In addition, NBA League Pass will spotlight exclusive NBA TV programming headlined by flagship program NBA GameTime as well as new shows including The Warmup, #Handles, and The List.

  • The Warmup, hosted by Stephanie Ready and Chris Miles, will offer the latest news, on-site reports, trending social media topics and fantasy updates prior to tip-off.  The daily show will feature a roster of leading analysts including Gary Payton, Grant Hill, Isiah Thomas, Candace Parker, and Sekou Smith. 

  • #Handles on NBA TV will provide an innovative, social driven experience that will see hosts Tas Melas and 13-year NBA veteran Channing Frye engage with fans via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and recap the night’s top highlights and storylines.

  • Led by Jared Greenberg and Steve Smith, The List is a half-hour show intended to inspire conversation and celebrate some of the most popular players, moments, teams and achievements throughout the NBA’s history.  

Fans in the Philippines can subscribe to select NBA League Pass offerings on Globe by visiting their official store on Lazada and Shopee.  Fans can download the official NBA App for free on the App Store and Google Play Store to access NBA League Pass on the go together with official game highlights, schedules, scores, stats and standings among other key features.

NBA Leage Pass Launches New Monthly Subscription Package and Highlights Feature


NBA LEAGUE PASS, the league’s live games subscription service, will tip off the 2016-17 NBA season with new features designed for basketball fans outside of the United States.  Throughout the season, fans will have the option to select NBA GAME CHOICE, a new monthly subscription, which enables fans to select any two live games per week (eight live games per month).

This season, NBA LEAGUE PASS will also introduce NBA RAPID REPLAY, a new highlights feature providing fans with in-the-moment updates on great NBA action from around the league. NBA RAPID REPLAY can be accessed as part of the live game experience from the NBA App on iOS and Android.

To tip off the season, NBA LEAGUE PASS will have a week-long free trial beginning with the first night of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 26 and running through Wednesday, Nov. 2.

From a variety of game packages to multi-screen views of the action, NBA LEAGUE PASS will deliver more ways to experience the NBA. This year’s features include:
·         BEST PLAYS OF THE DAY: This new series wraps up the day’s action with the best content from around the league.
·         ON-DEMAND CHOICES: Fans have the ability to download replays of full-length games or condensed games for convenient on-the-go viewing.
·         VIDEO ARCHIVES: NBA LEAGUE PASS opens up the NBA vault providing fans with more access than ever before to classic games, interviews, highlights and documentaries, including 60 hours of new content.  Throughout the season, new NBA content will be added to the Video Archives.

Along with the new offerings and features, NBA LEAGUE PASS will continue to offer its traditional, comprehensive full season package providing access to every NBA regular season game, as well as the entire NBA Playoffs, the NBA Finals and the 66th annual NBA All-Star Game. 

NBA TEAM CHOICE, available for all 30 teams, will return to give fans the option to follow one team and watch their favorite players all regular season long.  In addition, NBA LEAGUE PASS will enable fans to watch individual live games throughout the season.

Fans will be able to enjoy the subscription-based service across computers, tablets and mobile devices (iPhone and iPad; Android phones, tablets), as well as a wide variety of connected devices including the Apple TV; Android TV; Chromecast; ROKU; XBOX One; PlayStation®3, PlayStation®4 and Amazon Kindle.

Globe launches streamlined registration process for users to access NBA LEAGUE PASS on mobile devices


As the NBA Finals tip off, Globe Telecom, the official wireless and broadband services partner of the NBA in the Philippines, introduces a streamlined registration process that enables sports fans to watch and experience the NBA on their mobile devices.

Customers subscribing to any of Globe’s NBA service offerings (NBA499 for a 30-day premium access, NBA299 for 7 days, and NBA50 for a 24-hour access) will experience the new and improved registration method to access NBA content on their mobile phones without the need to input PIN codes.

In time for the NBA Finals, the new registration procedure from Globe begins with customers selecting an NBA service offering and texting the keyword (“NBA499”, “NBA299”, “NBA50”) to 8888. Once completed, users will receive a text message containing a link that will direct them to the NBA App to access NBA LEAGUE PASS. Once authenticated, fans can immediately get started viewing the games on their devices.

By working closely with the NBA, we have developed a simpler and effortless registration process, free of inputting or re-typing tedious PIN codes. Available on iOS and Android devices, the NBA App provides millions of fans access to NBA LEAGUE PASS that provides exclusive access to games in HD video with the option for home and away game commentary as well as integrated game stats modules.

Fans can also experience content via the Video Vault—a collection of archived NBA videos and TV shows including Hardwood Classics games and NBA Inside Stuff offered to premium package subscribers.
