GoJAM Globe

Joshua Emerson “j03m” Manzanares took home the plum prize, winning Globe Prepaid Virtual Hangouts’ first ever GoJAM On Stage Talent Search with a heartfelt rendition of his original track, “Gustong Gusto Kita”.  j03m Manzanares’ performance bested those from nine other budding Filipino artists which made the GoJAM Talent Search Finale a showcase of musical brilliance and artistry.

jo3m went home that night not just with the top prize and bragging rights, but with a recording contract from newly-launched entertainment company Kroma Entertainment and industry recognition that puts him on the path to success.

The onstage competition was the highlight of Globe Prepaid Virtual Hangouts’ first digital music camp and competition for promising young artists. The digital music camp was developed to give young Filipinos a chance to #OwnTheFuture by honing their musical talent and skills through masterclasses in songwriting, arrangement, branding, and digital marketing from leading industry experts Yumi Lacsamana & Thryo Alfaro, the camp’s mentor–songwriter-producer; Zel Bautista of December Avenue; Argee Guerrero of I Belong To The Zoo; Enzo Valdez, Managing Director of UMG; Vicky Malong, Marketing Director of Warner Music Philippines; John Lozano, seasoned celebrity stylist; Rayms Fabul, A&R Director of Sony Music Philippines; Brian Lotho, respected musician, arranger, producer, and two-time Awit Awards Album of the Year awardee; and Ian Monsod, CEO of Kroma Entertainment.

Other young artists who were specially selected to be part of the exclusive camp were Pauline Rose Tan, Owen Greyson, Gen Matthew Largo, Jan Christine Quiambao, Athena Gail Obre, Serene Le Madrid, Miguel Justin Segismundo, Jacob Yulo, and John Lloyd Reyes.

These are designed to nurture homegrown talents and give them an avenue to grow and #OwnTheFuture,” said Givielle Florida, Head of Globe Prepaid.

The workshop recently culminated in a live musical showdown at the Bonifacio High Street Central Amphitheater which was streamed via Globe’s Facebook page and Globe Prepaid Virtual Hangouts passion portal and made more exciting by special performances from Lola Amour, I Belong to The Zoo, and Unique.

No one went home empty-handed as, at the end of the night, the event hosts announced that the original songs performed by each of the finalists would also be officially released and distributed by Kroma Entertainment.

As Virtual Hangouts’ GoJAM On Stage Talent Search drew to a close, Anna Baldos, Head of Brand Engagement for Globe Prepaid, invited young Filipinos to continue honing their passions through Globe Prepaid Virtual Hangouts, so that, like jo3m, they, too, can #OwnTheFuture: “Whether it’s on the musical stage, on the runway, behind the camera, or even in international gaming arenas Globe Prepaid Virtual Hangouts can help you achieve your dreams through our different passion pillars.  Whatever you want to pursue, we’ve got you covered.”

The Globe GEN3 Stores are designed by Tim Kobe, founder and CEO of Eight, Inc. His most famous work is the Apple Store in New York. On his design plan for GEN3, Tim Kobe shared, “The space is dynamic. It changes with new stories and experiences that support different events and moments. We have elements that move and reconfigure, the way entertainment venues support great concerts or shows.”

Tim Kobe also shared the importance of functionality in the Globe GEN3 Stores, saying “Retail is one touch point where brands build relationships and sell products and services. It is important today to have a place to demonstrate what you stand for. More than 50% of the reason why someone engages with a brand comes from word of mouth. Interestingly, 80% of word of mouth comes from direct experience. Designing the experience is critical to building brand advocates.”
Leading up to the launch of the GEN3 Stores, Globe collaborated with homegrown Philippine artists who took part in one of the telco’s biggest transformation projects to better serve its customers. Led by multi-awarded artist Ross Capili, the artists turned their design inspirations into live art galleries, showcasing murals exhibiting Globe’s brilliant vision, complementing the look, feel, and experience of its GEN3 Stores.

By 2015, Globe is set to convert more of its existing stores into GEN3 Stores to bring the world-class telco retail experience to more Filipinos.

Superbike Racing Team "ART" (ATAT Racing Team)

Superbike Racing is known as a foreign sport for the adrenaline junky, with speeds reaching up to 300kph on straights and corners with very sharp turns. In a more technical sense, it is a category of motorcycle racing wherein tuned versions of motorbikes available for sale to the public are used for competitive racing in the tracks.

Not known to many of Filipinos, Philippines actually has a growing and thriving superbike racing community. Races have been hosted regularly in our top racing circuits in Batangas and Clark, Pampanga. Teams have also been formed representing the top motorbike manufacturers such as Aprilia and Ducati. The Philippine Superbike Championship has produced the biggest grid of Superbikes in the Philippine Motor Racing history and will the series will end this weekend at Clark International Speedway October 4 and 5.

One of the teams that have been gaining popularity in the superbike racing scene is the ATAT Racing Team. The ATAT Racing Team "ART" is an affiliate of Any Time All the Time (ATAT) Motorcycle Club. This motorcycle club is the only all-Italian Superbike Club in the Philippines. This highly exclusive, by-invite-only group is comprised of 24 CEOs, business owners, and top executives. The spirit of the group lies in their common passion for motorcycle riding on the road and on the track, and in their advocacy for motorsport safety. ART is composed of 14 active front racers with top of the line superbikes from Aprilia and Ducati.

On October 5, 2014, witness 12 ART racers together with their sponsors, Brickfire, IPM Group of Companies, Fila, Technomarine, Assurant, Foilacar and Megaworld take the grid on Sunday and test their skill against other racers in their respective categories.

FREE Facebook na raw ulit sabi ng Globe!

Ayan, tingnan mo nga naman ang pagkakataon. Look what MVP did to the competition.

This is what I can say one of the best things in competition pero ano naman ang mga nasasabi ng ating mga kababayan tungkol dito.

So I guess what my point for now is to make use of it. In the future, sana mas madami pang dumating.
