Purposeful Connectivity
Globe spotlighted how its strategic collaborations, inclusive platforms, and customer-first solutions enable seamless, secure, and equitable access to essential services, empowering Filipinos to thrive in work, learning, and everyday life. For our Prepaid customers, Globe offers GoGIVE, which is impact without interruption. Prepaid customers can sign up for free in the GlobeOne app to automatically send hearts to their chosen causes every time they use mobile data. In addition, this year’s G-Gantic Goals campaigns brought together 150,000 customers through the GlobeOne app, proving that even one Rewards point can make a difference, whether it’s feeding rescued animals or donating tablets to public schools in need. Globe of Good perfectly captured the heart of The Blueprint, showing that true progress shines brightest when powered by compassion and collective care.
“This holiday season, The Blueprint by Globe celebrates how technology and connectivity, when guided by purpose, can spark meaningful connections, empower communities, and light up lives through inclusive, intuitive, and intentional innovation,” said Darius Delgado, Chief Commercial Officer at Globe. “We believe in purposeful connectivity, where every product, service, and initiative is designed to provide meaningful connections to Filipino lives.”

Globe Strengthens Bacolod’s 5G Network as the City of Smiles Celebrates MassKara Festival 2025

BACOLOD CITY, October 2025 – As Bacolod celebrates the MassKara Festival, Globe powers the celebration with reliable, high-speed 5G connectivity, underscoring its strong support for the City of Smiles.

More than a celebration of music and masks, MassKara represents the Bacolodnon spirit of resilience and optimism. This same spirit drives Globe to keep building stronger, faster, and more meaningful connections that enable progress and empower communities.

“MassKara is all about joy, connection, and resilience, the same values that define Globe,” said Roche Vandenberghe, Chief Marketing Officer at Globe. “We’re proud to bring world-class connectivity, including Globe 5G, to Bacolod, so everyone can share their stories, celebrate, and go forward together.”

This year, Globe is ensuring that every smile and every story from MassKara can be shared in real time through expanded 5G coverage across Bacolod City. To support the surge of festival-goers, the company has boosted network capacity through additional broadband lines in major activity zones, including Lacson Street, SM Bacolod, Robinsons, Paglaum Sports Complex, and the Public Plaza. These enhancements guarantee smooth livestreams, quick uploads, and seamless connectivity throughout the celebrations.

Bacolod and Negros Occidental now have more than 300 Globe cell sites, including 5G, providing fast and dependable coverage across the province. In 2025, Globe is expanding further with more than 30 5G improved sites, reinforcing Bacolod’s position as a 5G-powered digital hub in the Visayas.

Across Negros Oriental, Globe operates over 100 sites, bringing the total to nearly 600 Globe cell sites across the island. This makes Negros one of the most connected provinces in the country, supporting both everyday life and large-scale events like MassKara.

To complement its network upgrades, Globe is enhancing the festival experience through the GlobeOne app, which serves as an all-in-one digital companion for visitors. From October 17 to 19, festival-goers can drop by the Globe Festival Experiential Platform along Lacson Street to spin the “Wheel You Win,” redeem Globe Rewards for personalized MassKara merchandise, join the GFiber’Oke and enjoy fun games and raffles.

Arriving passengers at the Bacolod-Silay Airport from October 13 to 17 are also welcomed by Globe SIM booths, helping them stay connected from the moment they land. The celebration peaks on October 17 with the G Music Fest at Capitol Lagoon, featuring performances by The Dukes, Earl Agustin, and Infinite Ridge, bringing together locals and visitors for a night of music, smiles, and connection.

Globe’s partners GCash, Jollibee and Pettr add more excitement through on-ground activities, prizes, and exclusive experiences that make MassKara brighter and more connected than ever.

As the festivities conclude, Globe’s network continues to drive Bacolod’s growth in tourism, education, retail, and logistics. With each new 5G build, Globe helps ensure that the city’s smiles stay connected, strong, and future-ready.

Award-Winning Link VIP Club Program Exceeds Customer Expectations in 2025

At a time when automation and price wars dominate the telecom landscape, Eastern Communications sets itself apart with a powerful differentiator: personalized service with a human touch. Eastern’s unique approach was recently recognized at the Asian Experience Awards 2025 in Singapore, where its 2024 “Partners in Progress” brand campaign and Link VIP Club customer loyalty program, earned honors for Brand Experience of the Year and Customer Experience of the Year, respectively.

Launched in 2018 to nurture Eastern’s relationships with its most valued B2B partners, the Link VIP Club has since evolved into a full-fledged experience offering exclusive perks, elevated service touchpoints, and access to premium lifestyle events tailored to the needs of modern enterprises.

This year, the program saw a notable rise in both participation and satisfaction ratings, reflecting Eastern Communications’ deeper engagement with its clients. Among the key highlights was the launch of the Titanium Tier, the newest and most exclusive membership level of the Link VIP Club.

Elevated experiences through the Titanium Tier
Unveiled in April at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, the Titanium Tier launch was a celebration of partnership and progress. This newest Link VIP Club level offers premium benefits such as 24/7 priority care, managed connectivity solutions, exclusive event access, and curated learning sessions. Designed to deepen client relationships and elevate the customer experience, these perks align with Eastern Communications’ “High Tech, High Touch” philosophy.

“Customer-centric innovation is at the heart of everything we do,” said Jed Estanislao, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at Eastern Communications. “Through the expanded Link VIP Club perks, we’re elevating the way we serve with smarter solutions, faster resolution time, and exclusive access to experiences to empower our clients for the future. Our goal is not just to meet expectations but to stay ahead of them and anticipate challenges before they’re even felt. Because at Eastern, every client journey deserves excellence.”

Furthering its client-first approach, the telco provider hosted its first-ever golf tournament exclusively for Titanium members on July 17, 2025, in Laguna. This inaugural event brought together some of Eastern Communications’ most loyal clients for a day of friendly competition, networking, and shared celebration.

“Our company has been with Eastern Communications since 2015, and we really feel special. This event is more on engagement and relationship building, which I think is the key to being long-time partners,” said Yeng Molero, owner of APN Philippines Inc.

Recognized commitment to client engagement
Aside from the 2025 Asian Experience Awards, Eastern’s “high touch” service has garnered significant acknowledgment across various regional marketing platforms.

Eastern Communications earned recognition at the 2025 Carrier Community Global Awards in Berlin, winning the Best Sales and Marketing Team of the Year award, highlighting the strength and impact of its customer engagement initiatives. The telco also took home a bronze award for Excellence in B2B Marketing at the Marketing Excellence Awards Philippines.

Most importantly, Eastern Communications’ dedication to exceptional service is reflected in the feedback of its clients.
“As an Eastern client, I really enjoyed the after-sales and pre-sales services. Most businesses really need reliability and fast connection, and in case there are downtimes, the team has to be very approachable. It’s truly great that we are partnered with Eastern. I would really recommend Eastern based on our company’s overall experience, knowing that we can confidently stand by our recommendation," said Shin Enriquez, Network Operation Section Head at Bank of Commerce.
Ross Garcia, Head of Public Relations at San Miguel Holdings, shared, "Eastern Communications is very proud of their service, [and] as they say, it is very personalized and exceeds every client's expectations. They go the extra mile and they provide services that really can't be matched by other competitors."

This reflects the company’s branding message to be its clients' Partners in Progress and embodies how Eastern views its clients as long-term collaborators in success. The telco continues to highlight this value through bespoke events, priority support, shared milestones, and building connections that go beyond business.

Load Up, Level Up Smart Supports Sustainable Livelihoods through Digital E-Loading

For many Filipinos, selling mobile load is more than just a side hustle, it’s a lifeline. To make mobile load more accessible through the Hatchiko app, mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is enabling PLDT Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TELESCOOP) members to earn extra income through a streamlined, digital e-loading experience.

“At Smart, we believe that technology should uplift lives,” said Smart Assistant Vice President and Head of Key Accounts Modern Trade Christian So. “By making load accessible through Hatchiko and TELESCOOP, we’re helping everyday earners build small but more sustainable side businesses, supported by our expanding 4G and 5G network.”

The Hatchiko app simplifies e-loading operations, allowing users to manage transactions, monitor earnings, and serve customers—all from their mobile phones. It’s a practical way to supplement income and reach more customers without needing a storefront. Hatchiko offers a range of services for its users, including solutions to integrate platforms, manage bulk transactions, or process e-load.

“Our goal is to reshape how load reselling works by offering a digital platform that simplifies the entire process,” said Bill Vergel Mendoza, President of Hatchiko. “Through the Hatchiko app, we’re empowering individuals with tools that make loading more efficient, transparent, and scalable—so they can manage their transactions with ease and grow their businesses sustainably.”

TELESCOOP, a long-standing cooperative serving PLDT employees and affiliates, has embraced digital transformation to better serve its members. Making Smart load accessible through Hatchiko adds a new income stream to its growing suite of digital services.

“This gives our members a meaningful opportunity to grow their income,” said Benedicto Portugal, Chairperson of TELESCOOP. “It’s a small shift with a big impact—especially for those looking to build something of their own.”

Smart e-load has been one of the fastest selling products for resellers and retailers across the country since it was introduced in 2003. A world-first innovation in mobile communication, Smart e-load marked the birth of prepaid services, democratizing access to mobile communication for Filipinos and enabling easier communication across the nation and overseas.

As Smart continues to expand its network nationwide, this initiative reflects its commitment to inclusive growth—where technology becomes a tool not just for connection, but for progress.

Connecting the Unconnected: Eastern Advances Inclusive Education Through Connectivity and Digital Literacy Efforts

Eastern Communications, the Philippines' pioneering telecommunications company and ICT solutions provider, continues to exceed expectations in championing digital equity and inclusive progress through its sustained community and digital literacy efforts. The company's initiatives, led by its digital enablement program, Project Maaasahan, are advancing access to connectivity and digital literacy for underserved communities, ensuring that every Filipino has the tools to thrive in a digital-first world.

Bringing connectivity where it matters
The Philippines continues to face a significant digital divide. According to the World Bank, the access gap in broadband internet between social classes is rapidly expanding, with fixed broadband penetration in the top wealth quintile being significantly higher than in the bottom quintile.

This disparity is further highlighted in a study by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), which shows that while 92% of barangays have access to a cellular signal, only about 12% have access to free Wi-Fi, and about 29% have access to fiber optic cable. These statistics underscore the urgent need for initiatives that directly address connectivity and infrastructure gaps, particularly in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA).

Eastern Communications is tackling this challenge head-on with Project Maaasahan, a multi-year initiative in partnership with unconnected.org and the Department of Education (DepEd). The program aims to bring vital internet connectivity to 10 GIDA schools across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Through this initiative, Eastern will provide free internet access and digital literacy programs to students, teachers, and their communities. To date, 4 out of 10 target sites have been successfully connected, with satellite devices fully functional and official turnovers completed.

“Our mission is to help close the digital divide by connecting the unconnected,” said Jed Estanislao, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at Eastern Communications. “We believe in the power of connectivity to transform lives. By providing these schools with the right tools, we are not just giving them internet access; we are opening up a world of information and opportunity, and helping to secure a brighter future for our young learners.”

Internet access reaches more learners
The impact is already being felt on the ground, with over 805 students and 30 teaching staff from the connected sites now having access to the internet. Among the first beneficiaries are Panicuason Elementary School in Naga City, San Jose Elementary School in Dipolog City, Namabbalan Integrated School in Tuguegarao City, and Pao-Pao High School in General Santos City.

For Panicuason Elementary School Principal Winnife Urot, Project Maaasahan represents more than just a CSR effort. "This is a partnership with purpose, anchored in love for Filipino learners and belief that education is the greatest equalizer," she said.

In General Santos City, the access to connectivity is a game-changer for Pao-Pao High School's 340 students, many of whom are from indigenous communities and travel up to four hours a day to attend classes.

(Translation: "What was once just a dream of having a good, fast and reliable internet connection is now a reality. Project Maaasahan is not just about providing connectivity. It is a bridge of hope, progress, and change. It is proof that even at the top of a mountain, knowledge and opportunity can still reach every student.")

Nurturing the next generation of innovators
Furthering its advocacy for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, Eastern Communications continues to foster digital literacy through its partnerships with organizations like TeamAsia and the Payatas Orione Foundation Inc. (PAOFI).

The company once again collaborated with the My Dream in a Shoebox (MDIAS) program, providing 100 public school student beneficiaries from PAOFI with an immersive visit to The Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The activity included a Tech Career Talk from Eastern’s own employees to inspire students to pursue opportunities in the technology sector, culminating in the gift-giving of Dream Kits filled with essential learning materials.

With its sustained investments in Project Maaasahan and other education-focused partnerships, Eastern Communications reaffirms its belief that education is the greatest equalizer. By delivering both “High Tech” solutions and a “High Touch” approach, the company remains committed to building a digitally empowered Philippines where every learner has the chance to connect, learn, and succeed.

PLDT, Smart, ADZU Launch Literacy Apps to Support Chavacano and Tausug Communities

As the world becomes more and more digitally borderless, helping children retain and learn in their native languages safeguards the Philippines' rich linguistic heritage and makes education more accessible, meaningful, and culturally rooted for future generations. Toward this, PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc., in partnership with Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) and with the support of the Department of Education – Division of Zamboanga City, have officially launched the literacy mobile applications called "Apprende" for Chavacano and "Hinduan" for Tausug.

“The launch of ‘Apprende’ and ‘Hinduan’ is close to our hearts because it allows children to learn in their own mother tongue, making education more meaningful. At the same time, it helps preserve our local languages so that the next generation can continue to value and celebrate their heritage. These apps are among the many learning tools we’ve developed with our partners to make education more inclusive and impactful for the communities we serve,” said Stephanie Orlino, Stakeholder Engagement Head, PLDT and Smart.
Designed to promote literacy and numeracy in mother tongues, the mobile applications also aim to preserve local heritage while making learning more accessible for younger generations.

ADZU Grade School Principal Ellen Segurigan expressed heartfelt gratitude to PLDT and Smart for bringing these innovative learning tools to the community. “Today, we celebrate more than the launch of two mobile applications; we celebrate the preservation, appreciation, and joyful learning of our local languages. With these apps, students will not only gain knowledge but also discover the richness of our heritage, enjoy the beauty of our words, and connect with one another in meaningful ways," said Segurigan.
The "Apprende" and "Hinduan" literacy applications complete a set of 13 mobile applications developed by PLDT and Smart with various partners as part of their long-standing commitment to advancing education and promoting digital inclusion.

This initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, as it fosters inclusive, equitable, and quality learning opportunities for all. Moreover, it contributes to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by helping to preserve cultural heritage and strengthen community identity through language.

Dream It, Do It: BINI and Students #GoForIt with Globe

Globe is creating spaces where ambition meets opportunity, offering internships, mentorship, grants, volunteering, and youth-led events that spark inspiration. Globe recently launched their #GoForIt campaign with BINI, pairing eight student dreamers with the eight members of BINI, not just as stars on a pedestal, but as peers who know the same late nights, doubts, and pressures.

Together, they showed that dreams come in all shapes and sizes, whether it’s becoming a photographer, digital illustrator, model, journalist, scientist, game designer, or performer. From rocking the stage to creating the next big breakthrough, every path is worth pursuing.

“Globe not only connects people through a network, but through communities as well,” says Clareene, a Polytechnic University of the Philippines  student dreaming of becoming a digital artist.

One Beat, Many Dreams

BINI knows what it’s like to chase a dream that feels out of reach. From long training days to topping the charts, they have faced the same doubts and roadblocks as many students today.

“Kahit din may mga doubts kami nung una, since Globe believed in us, that allowed us to believe in ourselves,” shares BINI Aiah.

“‘Di kailangan magmadali para magwagi, buhay ay ‘di karera,” adds BINI Maloi, reminding everyone that life and dreams are not a race against anyone else, but a personal journey you take at your own pace.

These moments with BINI show that they’re not just stars, but young women who once dreamed like today’s students. Whether in music, medicine, entrepreneurship, or digital art, one truth stands: no matter the dream, hold on to it, and go for it.

Smart, Billease Team Up to Make Mobile Services More Affordable—Even During Petsa de Peligro

For many Filipinos, staying connected is not just a convenience but a necessity—whether it’s for work, school, or keeping in touch with loved ones. Yet, managing mobile expenses can be especially challenging during petsa de peligro, when budgets run tight. To help ease this burden, mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), has teamed up with Billease, a leading Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform in the Philippines to give subscribers more flexible and affordable payment options, making digital connectivity accessible even when cash flow is limited.

“This partnership is rooted in our shared commitment to making digital services available for all.  This marks a significant step toward enhancing financial and digital inclusion for Filipino consumers,” said Lloyd Manaloto, First Vice President at Smart. “By integrating Billease’s Buy Now Pay Later solutions into our ecosystem, we’re empowering more Filipinos to stay connected and with greater ease.”

The announcement was made during a ceremonial signing ceremony held in the telco’s headquarters in Makati City, attended by key representatives from both organizations, highlighting the partnership’s alignment with national goals for financial inclusion and digital transformation.
Billease enables users to shop and pay in flexible installments without a credit card, supporting a wide range of transactions including e-commerce, travel, retail, and mobile services. Under this partnership, new payment options will open for Smart subscribers, allowing them to use Billease's flexible installment plans for things like buying devices, paying postpaid bills, or topping up prepaid accounts-- a practical way to make staying connected more manageable, especially during those tight-budget days. Smart also becomes the exclusive telco marketing partner for Billease's 8th Birthday celebration, a month-long campaign happening this September.

As part of the Billie's Birthday campaign, Smart customers who register for a Billease account and avail of mobile loading and other services will be eligible for raffle entries and prizes, including smartphones, cash rewards, and household appliances.

“This collaboration with Smart allows us to reach more users and offer them meaningful financial solutions at a time when they need it most—especially during petsa de peligro,” said Georg Steiger, CEO at Billease. “We’re excited to celebrate our 8th birthday by giving back to our users and helping them stay connected.”

The partnership also introduces a new channel for mobile loading across Smart, TNT, and Smart Bro Home WiFi brands, further expanding Smart’s reach and enhancing customer experience.

Smart continues to lead the way in expanding 4G/5G connectivity in the Philippines, covering 97% of the population and offering unparalleled coverage and availability. This expansion allows customers to enjoy faster internet speeds, seamless streaming, and improved mobile gaming experiences, further enhancing their digital lifestyle.

This partnership is aligned with PLDT’s mission to contribute to the country's achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), particularly SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
